Honestly for normal Mario species/characters I’d LOVE for Ninji to be playable and since he finally (took them long enough) has been playable on switch and surprisingly (in a great way) has had a lot of focus on switch I feel like he’s super likely to be in the next Mario kart.

Yea exactly! even without the improved hardware of this console, if Smash ultimate can have 8 costumes for all their characters despite how complicated the animations are, certainly Nintendo could fit, like, 12 in with the simple animations of Mariokart. In ohter words, make Pink gold peach and cat peach alternate skins of peach, and maybe throw in some other powerups she's had, like Tanooki or Fire peach from 3DW

To be perfectly honest, I haven’t played Mario Kart since 7 on the 3DS. I’ve played 8/Deluxe with family, but not enough to swear by. I really love the idea of a Nintendo Kart game with tracks, characters, cups and music from the whole Nintendo library of IPs; that’d be sick. But I’m more than happy with a new normal Mario Kart game, so I’ll definitely buy this when Switch 2 comes out

I would really like to see Captain Syrup added to Mario Kart! I think she is a super underrated character and overlooked by Nintendo. She was the main antagonist in the Wario Land games and she would honestly be the perfect anti-Peach/female villain which the Mario universe seems to be lacking. Im just happy that we're FINALLY getting a new Mario Kart game after 11 YEARS of Mario Kart 8!!! I was mentally drained of that game! What is it with people confusing Smash with Mario Kart and thinking same philosophy is followed for both. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was an upgraded port, with the original having a smaller roster (while still large, mind you, 30 characters is a lot). This new game will be a non-port but the first version of 9. They can't have THAT much content for a base game, it's unrealistic. And it's not emphasized enough but Mario Kart is NOT Super Smash Bros

I still think the roster will be the largest it’s ever been due to the amount of racers per track being double than it was in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Based on the proportions, I would think this new Mario Kart Game would have at least double the roster of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at some point, whether or not they add more characters later. It just wouldn’t make sense to have the same roster size as MK8DX knowing that there is gonna be 24 racers per track.

Quick warning before I send this comment it is long. I understand why people are wanting other IP’s in Mario kart as it will appeal to more fans who have never played Mario kart before. And if they haven’t they are living under a rock. But the thing is with these cross over characters is that they taking spots of other characters who have never been in a Mario kart game before. I can think of soo many characters that deserved to be in MK8D over Link for example to name a couple. Hammer bro, gomba, Dixie Kong and much much more. And I know why people want more is because people love super smash bros and they think that doing it with Mario kart will make it sell better than it always has. And with everybody being in smash bro ultimate makes people want a Mario kart like that. But the more and more cross over characters they add in the more and more it makes it not feel like Mario kart. They are good for one game but doing it again is a bit too far. Especially if people want more. Plus there own tracks as I seen few people predict. So personally of huge Mario kart fan and someone who plays the game much much more than the average person I would say. Just keep Mario kart Mario kart for now and do cross over characters every so often so they feel a bit more special.
