I was happy to stumble across this, as for many years I've been fond of several of Nina's early '80s records: "I Believed in You" and "Stop If You Love Me." They are both very soulful and funky and really show Nina's distinctive vocal approach. I can't tell for sure, but I think she's the same Nina Shaw who also cut several soulful sides for CBS back in the early '70s. I wonder if she pursued music any further after "Look at Me Now"? There have been several prominent "Nina Shaw's" in the public eye in recent years, but I can't find any information on this one. Very talented gal.

She is indeed the same artist. Very talented lady indeed, and should have had a more prominent career. www.discogs.com/artist/288544-Nina-Shaw

@@some.random.baldie2111 Just seeing your reply now. I had seen those early records on the same Discogs entry, too. And judging from the early EP record cover, I can see the visual similarity. It's just interesting how very different vocally in tone she sounded on those CBS singles from the Creole releases in the '80s.

This should have won. I also think it would have won Eurovision.

Such a great song. Would have done so well at Eurovision in 1984. What happened to these terrific entries to our A Song for Europe?
