Full proof way to cook white rice is 1 part rice to 2 parts water Example: 1c Rice & 2c of hot boiling water, cook it on a medium heat until the rice has absorbed the water, you should not need to drain any water. And of course wash your rice a couple of times before cooking it (: Hope this made sense and helped, love from New Zealand

hi so this may sound stupid but should I eat the skin of sweet potatoes? or is it bad for you? also, is there a difference between cooking them in an oven or boiling them? I recently started to eating clean I wanted to know what is healthier :)

+Katniss Fagalebaum Baking potatoes, and vegetables in general, in an oven is much better, because vegetables lose tons of nutrients to the water if you're boiling them. So unless you're using the water you boiled your vegetables in as a vegetable broth, you should definitely bake them or cook them in a pan with minimum oil.

The easiest way to cook rice is the absorption method. 1 part rice, 1.5 parts water. (for example, 1 cup rice, 1.5 cups water) 1. Put rice and water in a pot. 2. Bring to boil. 3. Cover with a lid. 4. Turn to low heat. 5. Cook for however long it says (about 14 minutes). When you take the lid off, the water should be absorbed. "Fluff" it with a fork (just stick a fork in and bounce it around a bit to get some air in and loosen the rice). Don't mix it!! mixing is why it gets gluggy like risotto. :)

To cook rice its 1;1 ratio so one cup water, one cup rice and you put the fire on medium with a lid because the steam cooks the rice. should take about 10 minutes to cook :)

When you cook rice, you need to bring it to a boil, then put the lid on, lower the heat as low as you can and let it sit until all the water is absorbed - don't open it or stir it before that!

It looks like rissotto because you aren't supposed to stir rice while it's cooking! You let it absorb every bit of the water and then stir it with a fork :-)
