These look amazing! Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have always wondered what would be a good way for me to make envelopes, out of the paper craft paper that I have. I don't have any of the tools that most crafters use so watching this definitely gave me some insight, as well as something to do while New Zealand is in a 4 week lock down. I do like both versions, my mind is already racing with ideas lol. Though I have to say, my favorite will have to the be the distressed versions. I'll get some things when I get out of lock down, but for now I'm happy to make envelopes with what I have. Thank you again!

I love both styles and I'd like to encourage anyone reading this message to contact their local care home sense they aren't allowed to receive visitors during the Coronavirus pandemic several people I know we are getting the names of people whom maybe don't have family and sending them love through the mail. So make it cute and make it fun and you'll feel better about being quarantined by doing something fun for someone else.
@CarrieGrahamYo4 жыл бұрын
sweetboo1022 hey this is an excellent idea. I’ve been kinda locked up for a few weeks now and I have time on my hands and supplies too so how great to do something to minister to another person’s heart to let them know they aren’t alone. I know lately it’s felt that way for me just cause I moved quite some time ago now actually to help out at home and we don’t really have anyone we have connected with here. so when you get stuck at home and aren’t even attending something even once a week like church or going to Walmart and chatting with your checkout guy or gal you can go a little stir crazy and that’s coming from a homebody. But if you’re in a nursing home, hospital, mental hospital even (I’m sure that’s really hard and quite lonely at present even for the workers because it must be extra stressful and oh, the folks who are in the jails and 🧑🏼🏭prisons too! I know that part of what helps keep violence down is the good behavior they go for so they can visit with their loved ones and who knows many may be on lock down so they could be going stir crazy. Everyone is being affected and God loves us all no matter who we are ...how wonderful it is to be able to do something just to remind someone even a random person who may be under more stress than we can imagine, that they truly are cared for and not forgotten even by those wo do not know them. ....and well heck... even sending something to your neighbors and family and friends who are single or just elderly or because you miss them would be such a kind thing to do. The world can go a little mad when we can’t socialize. So, Great idea! Thanks for the suggestion. Oh, hey... Just to throw one back at cha.... Any small kind of craft that you make like say, flower or feather decorative topped pencils (go great with a set of stationary you create) or maybe you bead or you make small and light items that will easily ship like idk... little headbands for your friends or family or people have just had babies or whatever it is you do, I’m sure many people we don’t think of are lonely and would love a small gift to know they are remembered. Also, don’t forget about your local emergency, police and security guard workers because they are working extra hard out there since they don’t have any chance of staying home in the line of work they do and they put themselves and by definition their families at risk to keep food on the table and to help other people stay sane and safe.... My husband is in one of those fields and I have to remember to just Thank God for protecting him and that he still has a job because of the field he’s in instead of worry. But, I know lots of wives and husbands are probably a little fearful too so there is another group of folks.. LETS JUST SEND EVERYONE IN THE WORLD SOMETHING! :P. SORRY NOVEL! You really cheered me and got me thinking. Thanks for that. *obviously I haven’t spoken to too many people in the last few weeks as I said lololol....okay... I can’t lie. I talk way too much that’s all. 👀. Dang I hate when I do that. if you got through this whole response you deserve a cookie. js.

This situation is why I like The Envelope Mill by Haila Harvey. It's a book that comes w/ a set of plastic templates. The templates are the same shape as the one you're using, they're study enough to cut around w/ a craft knife, and translucent so you can center them up over your image easily. It's still out there on Amazon.

Just discovered your channel and love these! I've made envelopes from old calendar pages for a few years now... something I saw years ago, but never saw or thought of sanding them and grunging them up. I like that look, but also like the shiny look. Both are great! I scan into my computer some of my fave calendar or catalog pages, for future use.. makes my own "paper" to use for either envelopes or card fronts... or punch them out in shapes to make my own paper flowers. I had kind of forgotten this technique and just threw a bunch of catalogs away into our recycle sack... now I have to go pull them out and look at any I want to save! (as if I need them)...…..
