Yes Tommy Körberg was in the original cast and OST to the musical ”Chess” from 1984 performing for many years in London. You should REALLY check out ”Anthem” from 1984.

Tommy Körberg is one of (if not THE) best male singer we have in Sweden. As a Eurovision lover, I would recommend you to check out Tommys Stad i ljus (city in lights) - the swedish eurovision entry 1988, and one of my favourite songs ever!

In that case, go for the version from Melodifestivalen and not the one from Eurovision. Tommy fell ill and performed with basically no vocal capacity and +40C fever; he noticable butchered a high note due to being ill.

Tommy sings the Swedish version of this song and in that duet he’s the one with the vocal powerhouse role(similar to how Celine is the one in the English version) taking the powerhouses from both versions and pairing them up for a duet was an interesting choice but it has the unavoidable risk of coming of as a battle Personally I prefer the Tommy and Sofia pairing for the song as I find it fits the theme of the movie quite well with Sofia’s clear somewhat delicate voice as Belle and Tommy’s more bellowy and powerful tone as beast

Tommy körberg is a world class singer and one of the very best male singer we have in sweden. He is still performing at the age of 75yo and sounds better than ever ❤ PS I just love Celines reaction when he start doing his vocal runs. She didn’t know how amazing Tommy could sing before this, and her jaw dropping face tell’s it all😊 He did this with a cold, and is the main thing his grith and rasping voice was in here, it sounds cool but Tommy could done it without any other day👌🫶

You missed Celine’s face. Tommy KöRberg (drive mountains) came late to this show and ended up in the bar with a glass of whine, listening to Celine MIII LAAAA DOOO warming up. Tommy never warms up, so when he is the host at allsång på skansen he starts with a singalong so the audience varms up. Celine and Tommy knew this song because Tommy was the beast in the Swedish version. And they just made one rehersal together after Celine had her time warming up. Thats when Tommy got the idea of pranking Celine. So when they had their rehersal togheter he held back and the rest is history. Celine died for a moment and Tommy showed her whos the boss. Celine was folowing the text book and Tommy had fun.

I am huge fan of Tommy Körberg since his performance in the Swedish entry of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1988. In the beginning of 70s he went to a renowned singing teacher in Stockholm to see if he needed singing lessons or could improve his singing technics. When this singing teacher heard him sing he said: "You don't need any singing lessons and don't you dare go to someone else and destroy what you already have." I have listen to him live lots of times and he is an absolutely increadible singer, a real powerhouse and he can sing so many different genres.

The K in Körberg is pronounced as ch in cherry. Or not really but it's as close as you get because cherry is körsbär and that k is pronounced the same way, If you know german it's the Sch sound but shortened.

They faced off in Eurovision Song Contest in 1988 when Celine won representing Switzerland with the song Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi. Sadly Tommy was sick and his voice didn't hold. If he had performed "Stad i ljus" the way he did in the Swedish competition he might have been the winner. If you can find the version from Melodifestivalen you should check it out. Otherwise the album version. Also check out him performing Anthem from the musical Chess. There's a live performance from the Olivier Awards that is great
