Of course not :) There are some other bands that put on excellent live shows though. I'd say Rammstein is my #2 favorite live show.

Depends what you're looking for. I'd say as far as a really organized set like this, NIN, or Radiohead, are the best. For something absolutely physically crushing and bare, Swans, or Sunn OO)), and for stripped-down aesthetic, your local bands playing their heart out. Idles might be the only band being able to be emotionally connected to every town they go through, even if people there are not fans. Logically, the best band you could see live, is your favorite band. If Godspeed You! Black Emperor is really important to me, it's their show that would be the best. Sometimes, the best show you could see comes out of nowhere, though. You gotta explore. Be receptive, empathetic.

@@StockAvuryah Mostly agreed -- but the truth is that, at least when it comes to big bands/performers/artists -- some are a huge disappointment Live, and can't even remotely recreate how good their album is. I'm not going to call out bands because I don't want to insult other people's favorite bands, but some couldn't do what they do if there wasn't a sound engineer spending hours in the studio fixing their work. NIИ is the opposite. With that said -- yes, there are other bands that also have excellent live shows.

Yeah ... It was a really tough balance to try and get some video for future memories, and still enjoy the concert itself. That's why this youtube video is a mix of a few songs from a bunch of shows ... I made a rule to only record a few, and enjoy most of the show. I really hope I get to have an experience like that King's VIP pit again!

Thanks for this compilation and editing job. I did Radio City and was looking forward to hitting shows this fall. I hope that it still happens. I will never forget my first NIN show at the Roseland Ballroom for TDS tour and then Woodstock, Poughkeepsie, Philly and MSG all made 94 a great year.

I have tickets for RATM on May 11 (postponed with no date announced), and a bunch of shows for Rammstein (one show already postponed with no date announced). If the shows do end up happening, I'd probably do this sort of thing again - it was really fun editing, and I think the final result looks pretty close to professional through most of it. IMHO, sadly, there will be no major concerts in 2020 for any bands. I don't think the concert scene will return to normal until at least 2022 :(

@@viewfromtherail I would have loved to see the RATM reunion done this way but depending on the venue and the GA floor seats, unless you have press passes, it would be hard to get a stable shot. I agree that we are not going to see the return of a "normal" show for 2 years. :(

@@mikesmelon5714 The tickets I had for RATM were "okay", so there wouldn't have been any guarantee on anything good there. The Rammstein shows I had Feuerzone tickets -- so I'm pretty confident I would have gotten excellent video there. With that said, I've been following NIИ for many years, and have seen a huge number of concerts. Prior to this tour, I went with my friends, enjoyed the show as a typical fan, and that was that. This time around, I decided that as a game, I would buy cheap tickets to a bunch of shows, and make it part of my goal to quickly make friends with people at the show, and see what I could accomplish on getting a better location. There were two shows where I had cheap tickets and ended up in front of the rail.

@@viewfromtherail I am glad that Trent did this last tour at Theaters with enough nights in each region. I am still down for a Webster Hall GA small club like '17 but getting over 40 and the mixed set list was the way to do it that tour. The show up for tix at the venue on short notice was kind of a bust bc I got balcony for the advance tix but then the Ticket Bastard release had way better tickets. The one time that NIN did the show up early thing right was at the Night of Nothing at Irving Plaza in 96. I noticed the font in the Aquarian (concert mag) for a show with no other details so a couple friends and I headed into the city and as we were on the bridge the FM radio station announced that NIN, Manson and Meat Beat Manifesto was doing the venue but we had to go now and get a voucher with my ID and return that night so no +1 and no scalping, only my ID and voucher got me in. It was the day after MTV music awards in NYC so Dr Dre to Anthony Keidis was there. I lost a lot of respect for MM after he spoiled the night with a mic stand to Gingers head after 4 songs. No one had heard songs from Antichrist and he did a couple and ruined it. I was so glad to hear Prick songs and Pop Will Eat Itself and Richard Patrick joined for HLAH. This was the best way to handle Ticket Master. Sorry to rant. I have a feeling that if Ticket Master gets a bailout, their Platinum tix and overall practices have to be changed bc they are a first and third party vendor essentially for every show. Trent has always found a way to put a wrench in their scam.

@@mikesmelon5714 NIN show crowds aren't that rowdy anymore :) Out of the nine shows I saw in 2018, there was only one that had a real pit. (The final night of the tour in Los Angeles)

Superb stuff. The spots you guys got were amazing - was their a tapers section at the front or something? Didn't Burning Bright (Field On Fire) get played that tour - as that was the highlight of the UK shows for me?

Wasn't officially allowed, but, wasn't disallowed either. The official rule is "No professional Cameras with detachable lenses. No tripod. No selfie sticks". An iPhone is none of those things. Of course, you can still run into problems if you piss off those around you, or the security people. Getting to the front was a mix of paying for front row seats at some shows, and good social skills at others. Burning Bright was played at one of the shows I was at, and I might even have video of it ... but I was much farther back at that show. I didn't want to include any "average" quality stuff in this edited copy. Also, since it was just me filming (not "you guys"), I had planned that I would only record 3-5 songs per show, and try to enjoy the rest of it. So, there were certainly some songs I wish I had recorded, and didn't have the camera running for (eg: Something I Can Never Have).

I am sorry, In This Twilight was the worst version Ihave heard. That is my favorite NIN song for very personal reasons. I was disappointed. Especially since the amazing Mike Garison was a part of it.

Also not my favorite version. The piano took away from bleakness that makes the song so beautifully poignant, but props on the great musicianship and to Trent for always taking risks and exploring. IMO, the best version of In This Twilight is from NIN's concert at the Rose Garden Arena in Portland from 2008. Chills.
