"Crash and burn lifestyle" Trent says lol. I'm so glad he got clean and is still with us. And I do agree with him and Danny: they didn't play that well. I don't really turn to this performance to get some NIN. It was mostly for the spectacle and the history.

1:16:45 Trent Reznor "I'll be dead in 25 years. If I'm not (and on stage) then shoot me because I don't want to be a part of the relic thing" I'm so glad he got sober. He would be dead if he hadn't (most likely) and I am damn glad he still plays live shows (well none scheduled but fingers crossed) I've seen them live twice. Even driving 5 hours, 2 states away to see them the 2nd time because NiN avoided Indiana on their tour about 10 years ago-give or take. I was so broke that I had to drive back that same night and call my Dad and ask for gas money. I took a girl with me who wanted to go and said she would pay gas money but instead she bought a t-shirt and we were both broke. Good times though

One of the things I loved about going to shows in the 90s was that the bands focused on the music more than the stagecraft. It's fun to watch a pop extravaganza but in the end I prefer just the band going at it on stage without all the special effects or dancing.

Danny is a genius. Also the band talk to make the final go/no-go before what turned to be a truly iconic set. Oh man…

I believe the money they got from this performance allowed them to extend the Self Destruct tour. From playing small clubs at the beginning of the tour to selling out arenas by the end of it. NIN took over the world that year (1994-95). I saw them 4 times during that tour and ending with them playing with David Bowie!!! Seen them 13 times total, you have never seen a live show until you experience NIN live in the pit!!!

I was a high school freshman in '94, but '99 became an option. We made the trek from Indiana, thought I was gonna have an experience like the kids in this video. Lol holy fuck a lot changes in 5 years - '99 was the worst and best time I've even had. When you're at the mercy of a quarter million strangers on a gd abandoned Air Force base w/no water or shade you grow up & discover your priorities real quick

Loved this performance! I was living in NYC @ the time. I remember when tickets went on sale for Woodstock, I couldn't afford them. Several people I worked w/ got tickets & I was so jealous I assumedi would be working anyway. When the weekend came around, I miraculously got the weekend scheduled off. I couldn't believe it. Then my husband got off work as well & he didn't ask for it. Then we heard people were climbing the fence we decided to venture up there. We got there around 8:00 Saturday night, just before NIN took the stage. The mud wasn't just mud & the smell was horrendous! It still makes me gag to think of it. It was mud, blood, vomit, shit, piss, pretty much raw sewage. It was absolutely gross. & it was unavoidable, up to mid thigh in some places. I dont regret it though, bucz even though that was supposedly a bad performance for them, it was incredible!! We left about noon on Sunday. Saugerties was a 2hr drive normally. It was 8 hrs to get back to NYC. I knew a few coworkers that stayed to the end. It took them 3 days to get back NYC. I'll never forget!
