It's amazing how powerful emotion, delivery, and melody can be in making lyrics great. The lyrics to this are fantastic, but if you think of the chorus, "You and me/We're in this together now/None of them can stop us now/We will make it through somehow," they would sound cheesy in a lot of other songs. But here, Trent makes them into poetry.

I remember this tour cycle. I stood in line to obtain tickets for hours before they became available at my local mall. Way before presales online. This was back in late 1999/2000 and A Perfect Circle opened for them here in St. Louis Missouri. This album was a game changer for me. I still adore The Fragile and essentially mostly what Trent does. He is an inspiration in so many ways.

Timmy watson I disagree. The Fragile was fairly well recieved. Trent's issue was addiction and scrapping what he had several times over. He is notorious for taking long breaks between albums. I'm a humongous fan of his and will always support him. I personally think that this album is NIN at their best. It's not just a listen through.....It's an experience.

I mean, I am open to everyone's lyric interpretations, but my fellow human, I honestly deem this track to be one of the most sincere, honest, raw and real love songs that has ever existed. the lyrics in question: "they gotta hate what they find" (which is slightly mis-transcribed to me suggests that some peers do not accept or like the relationship for whatever reason : "Well, they've got to kill what we found Well, they've got to hate what they fear Well, they've got to make it go away Well, they've got to make it disappear" But the partners believe in their love and they decide to persevere despite other's opinions.
