I used to have a tubeless tire on my Kingsong 18XL, it felt very much like the Z10. I really enjoyed how I never slowdown on potholes as I knew the tire will not fail me.

Nice video! Even after reading about all the problems of the Z10, I still bought it directly from China. As my first wheel, I truly love it! I have had it for only two weeks, and it's the most fun thing I have bought in ages. Something about the design, the tire and everything made me take the risk. So far I haven't regretted it :)

I'm enjoying my Z10 since I ordered it early February 2019 after watching one of the first #Hsiang videos. At that time I already had an interest in the EUC that started when I saw an Airwheel monocycle video some years ago. However it was only the Z10 that made me want to buy it, even though I had to buy it through the Aliexpress platform which I had never done before. It is my first wheel so I have no comparison and to be fair - first week of owning one I hought I made a pricy mistake. Now with more then 2200km on my Z10, I know now it was the best thing I have ever spent my money on. I did not encounter any of the technical problems so far but yes it wobbles if you go too fast on uneaven surfaces , but as your feet are getting used to it, you will find it a natural thing with time. I hit a pothole once that made me change the tire wich requirers removing every single screw in the device, but there are instruction videos how to do it and I made it. I use my Z10 in spring, summer, autumn and winter. There is only one disadvantage - once travelling on EUC becomes natural to you, and I guess it is not the case of just z10, you loose perception of walking distance, so once you are without the wheel you may end up makeing a decision of walking mere 5 km which in fact will not take just 12 minutes :) Do not wait a minute and get yourself the z10. As much as I am impressed by the performance of the Gotway monster, riding the z10 brings me a sense of happiness that nothing else compares, it's just a very fluid feeling wheel, especially once you really get comfortable with it. I am actually dreading going on vacation and not be able to ride it for 2 weeks!!

Quick tec question what camera are you using? its picking up the cloud cover really well giving your video an interesting style, l like it. Just got my Z10 in time for New Year but sadly only used it once because of this virus & the British weather, six months of heavy rain is no fun.

I just recorded a clip of me riding the z10 in heavy rain! Check out my video description for a list of cameras I use, for the gopro and DJI pocket, you need to use a ND filter on sunny day to get the color of the sky, you’ll see that in some footage I forgot to put it on and the sky just look white and overexposed.

I think I've coined a good term for your video/vlog style. "EUC Philosophy"; you speak a lot about the socio-psychological impacts of riding EUCs as well as how it feels and can feel to ride a machine like this, it's a very human approach and you speak highly of a connection to the wheel you ride, which I think very few other evehicles can attest to.

Hsiang Alas, I checked the battery date on DarknessBot and it’s 2018. Nevertheless, I got it yesterday and tried it out today. I think it handles like the MSX Pro, as far as the tight turning radius. And the pedals are very comfortable. It is, by far, the best looking EUC on the market in my opinion. Especially that extra wide tire. Just amazing. And if I only get limited use out of it and the motherboard craps out, I’ll consider it money well spent. After all, you can spend the same amount on a week long vacation and just have memories!

I replaced the motor, the tire since it came with the motor, the control board, I don't think the battery was replaced, maybe just the connectors

So if you have a z10 enjoy it bit if you haven't ordered one yet go with another brand that supports repairs and follow up to its products?? Is that your concensus? I am new to eucs and want one. But I'm not a speed junky more ease of use and decent speed and distance. More than all I dont want to fall. What do you recommend (and don't say no euc if you don't want to fall, I know i will fall, but I want to fall as little as possible)

Keep in mind that on an EUC high speed limitation isn’t necessarily for speed junkies; since motor power is how we maintain balance and braking, a high speed wheel is technically safer since it provide more head room for unpredictable conditions and better braking. My usual recommendation are for new people to buy a use wheel just to practice so they can figure out how to ride without fearing damaging a shiny new wheel, if you can’t find use, start with a light weight wheel like the V8(f) so this way you can keep it as a back up when you upgrade later. Plenty of people I know also just go straight for the big fast wheel, makes learning slightly tougher but if you are athletic and do sports that involve balancing you may learn faster than you think. Just don’t buy anything more than 1 or 2 years old (if you are buying new) since they improved a lot recently.

I would say maybe? My standard recommendation is to start with a use wheel that you don’t mind beating up, because people often drop their wheels during the learning process and the shell on the monster is rather fragile. Also gotway wheels tend to be finicky and require more maintenance than usual. But if you are willing to put in the time then theres no reason why you can’t learn on the monster either!

Get the v3 and you won't regret it! the monster is a very VERY different wheel from anything else on the market. nothing else feels as capable and stable at speed as the monster and for long distance ride it is great! I still use the z10 more personally, but mostly because my typical trip aren't that long so its easier to take the z10, and more fun at lower speed.

Gotway indicates the MSX is getting a more powerfull engine and other updates in 2020 so I assume that new MSX engine will be updating the Monster too sometimes this year. Ill wait til summer to see if I can still afford it, so far I love my MSX more than the smaller MCM5 -- I like the stability in offroad and onroad conditions - thx for great videos.

Very few wheels are trouble free unfortunately, and both Gotway and Kingsong had their issues; but the enthusiast does feel a bit more "burned" by ninebot and so the z10's rep suffers. ninebot had said that most of the issues had been addressed with wheels produced after April of 2019. there's that but of course I have no way of verifying that either..

Hsiang The Z10 suffers from initial bad design choices. To low voltage, weak boards/mosfets, bad battery and BMS configuration. These can only be adressed by a totally new version. Their BMS is still drawing the battery down over time. And - as you said - the „service“ ninebot is offering, should not be even called so. Has lead several sellers to drop out....

I've been riding my Ninebot Z10 since March 2020. Loved every minute up to about 2350 km.Then, I traveled to another region with higher elevation.Needed to change tire pressure.. ..ha, yeah, right. I bought this beauty after Hisiang's reviews and agree with his comments on there is NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT, at all. Screw the ninebot extension tire stem tube since it does not help at all. Just like the company it's self.

An observation... while EUCs in general could be considered a "cutting edge" or "niche" product... I've noted that even in the EUC product space... you appear to gravitate towards the 'bleeding edge" or performance/design envelope type models in the segment. I guess what I'm saying is... for folks that stick to anything less than the latest release/revision/model... you actually get pretty impressive reliability and predictable performance out of these niche products. Coming to the party a year late on the 16S, 9 months late on the V10F, and I will be nearly a year late on the 16X... is buying me a very positive EUC user experience. Not a criticism... just pointing out the observation that perspectives on the maturity of the product segment can vary significantly according to user brand preferences and buying habits.

The EUC market is weird, even though I do gravitate towards the more extreme models, base on talking to people, reliability isn't so much tied to performance. The kingsong 18xl was a pretty reliable wheel but the 16x had a lot of issues. EUC are very simple machines and don't have a lot of parts; and for the most part issues I have seen all had to do with the fact that they are hobbyist grade; as in hand assembled and engineered by very small company for a very small market. It's not ideal but this also mean that they aren't difficult to maintain and repair yourself.

At last! The Beast is back! So glad you persevered and got it fixed Hsiang. Question is, how much has the Monster seduced you in the Z10's absence? Are you now torn, or has the move delivered a mental shift to the extent that you now think 'Monster' before Z10 without guilt? I guess the new toy will always enchant, but has the Z10 got its hooks deep under your skin?

I am riding the z10 way more then the Monster! Monster is brilliant cruising long distance at speed above 20mph, but outside of its sweet spot it isn't as fun as the z10. I had to do a 12 mile night ride out to the suburb in 30 degree weather, where the roads are dark and deserted, and the monster was perfect for that.

Well, my Z10 is also down. It's still ridable but makes a semi-regular clicking sound that can be quite loud, especially at low speeds. I sent it to Segway Taiwan and they took it apart and judged that it was the motor control system. They could fix it for about 700 USD, but they couldn't use the warranty. So now I have to send it to China to get it fixed. Has anyone else had this clicking problem?

This is the first I have ever heard of it, 700 is a lot! A new motor plus tire was only 300usd. The control boards were 150. Not sure why it would be that expensive?

On all ninebot vehicles, they have shorted the size of battery...so aggravating.... The weight and size of the tire/motor make it more a flywheel then other wheels...

The balance is also different, with the recessed battery housing the center of gravity is in line with the axel instead of being higher as in most Gotway and kingsong wheels , you can lean it a lot further with out having to worry that it'll tip over

I went from z10 to kingsong 16x and I must admit that Ninebot's wheel is sucks. After 3500 km on z10 I have thought what EUC nesseserely must be unstable, rigid and fast discharging. 16x completely changed my point of view: it's much better wheel, more convenient, powerful, stable on the road and capable in terms of range and speed. Now I plan to sell my z10 and forget about it like a bad dream

I agree that the 16x is much more of a predictable wheel than the z10, faster too. And EUC is a very personal thing and everyone rides differently so if you find a wheel you enjoy than awesome!!

@@JonS its a canon m6ii with a sigma 10mm fisheye, I had to buy the lens used since its discontinued and the B&H guy said that for some reason ppl are moving away from the wide fisheye lens, weird since I love this lens!
