Awesome riding dude!!! Love to see these videos, very educational to those that think big is best! The 300 might not have the same power on the straights, but the lower weight makes the bike more nimble and balanced , the braking also happens later due to lower weight. Again, well done sir 👏👏👏

Once you get rolling on these little bikes and can take your line, you have so much more speed on the corner , then that's your starting point for the straight. Some times its 20 mph faster than them. It takes a while for them to build the speed back up so it is not that much slower on the straights once you get rolling, even on a big track. If you can get a big enough gap in the corner and can hold them off for one straight thats all she wrote for those big bike slow guys. In the faster groups the big bike guys are cornering like you are on the smaller bike, thats when they are truely faster. Until then you are learning more skills (better lines) and having way more fun. . using fewer tires, using less chains and sprockets . for way less!

Why do you have the one bar pushed in on the perch and the other right at the end? Is there some kind of benefit to doing that?
@NickLearn7763 ай бұрын
@kenneyd1622 No advantage. The right clip-on is longer than the left. The extra sticking out on the right side is merely to compensate for the extra length to make the grips be equally spaced from the perch. So maybe a slight disadvantage because the right side is an ounce heavier than the left? 😂

There's something to be said for a bike that becomes a unicycle on corner exit too, but I agree. Another small bike is in my future for sure

Bro 👏👏👏👏👏👏 bro 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 that is the best video I have seen. What aftermarket parts do you have in your bike? Is the suspension stock? I am thinking about to buy a wrecked 300 turn it to a track bike .
@NickLearn7763 жыл бұрын
Thank you. The previous owner raced it so it had pretty much everything. AK20 forks, penske shock, braided lines, cheap race fairings, stripped everything that wasn't needed for weight, etc. Highly suggest that idea. They are a TON of fun to run. Teaches you a lot.

How long until a ninja 300 feels underpowered at the track?
@NickLearn7762 жыл бұрын
Bottom line, you're never going to keep up with a higher displacement bike on any form of straight, but that's not what a small bike is about. The whole point of a small displacement bike is to force you to work on and find speed in the technical bits since you can't make up for bad technique with a heavy throttle hand
@NickLearn7762 жыл бұрын
I guess the better answer is that you're asking the wrong question. It's always underpowered compared to other bikes, but that's exactly the point. Unless you're an expert-level racer, there's no "outgrowing" a 300 on track. Yeah you could go faster with a 600/1k, but you could also go faster on that 300 with some more seat time. 99% of the time the rider is the limiting factor, not the bike
@pedrobanzainunes8851 Жыл бұрын
Nick, i agree with you on almost everything! Of course the rider makes all the difference, but corner entry speed of a lightweight bike is higher, i almost risk to say , and faster going off on some tracks, they will also brake later due to lighter weight. But in general you are correct! This was "only" a 300 4stroke.... If it was a 250... 2 stroke.... With you riding it... You would have made it look even easier.
@pedrobanzainunes8851 Жыл бұрын
On that twisty section you were killing them! You can easily see the weight difference, they take forever and struggle to tilt the bike from left to right and back to left , while you just flyby !! 😂 Awesome!
@NickLearn776 Жыл бұрын
@pedrobanzainunes8851 A former racer told me once it's not hard to go fast. Just go fast in the fast bits. You can really see that in action on those esses. High speed corners are where you can REALLY make up time

No, I can't remember what it was at the time though
@vfrfandom39042 жыл бұрын
It can be a smaller rear sprocket that creates a taller gearing ratio that's best for high-speed situations without many tight turns feels like wide-open desert racing.
