Markus is one of the fastest EWC riders in the Paddock right now, and winner of this year's 24 hours of Spa Francochamps. I met him at a trackevent in Most, in the Czech Republic. He and some other world endurance riders trained there for a race. When he's on his real racebike, and flying by, you think you eventually hit the reverse...... 😂 But he is such a cool and grounded guy, and a master of his craft at the same time. Really cool video CR, loved to watch. Greatings from Germany 😉

I have seen so many road riders thinking they’re pro racers…until it comes to riding the track. It’s a place to keep your ego at home, as it’s only a matter of time before you eat humble pie. I’ve been on track with pro racers when I’ve been riding my personal best laps, and they come by as if I’m stood still. It’s amazing to see it, and often unexpected where they come from, how they pass, and how hard and deep they carry their speed into corners. I’m no slouch when it comes to a trackday, but they’re on a level of their own. Amazing.

It’s great to ride with real pros, as you get to really see what they’re doing, and where and how they’re doing it. I’ve been fortunate to have raced with, ride with and learn from some of the best guys in the game. At least with the guys I knew, even the top tier racers are more than happy to stop what they’re doing and and give help and insight. The racing community as a whole is that way. He was pretty shaken up but still had time to give a young boy watching a high 5 before being taken to the medical centre.

No way! I've been lucky I've been able to ride it for the past 4 years. Not cheap, but definitely worth it every time. And yeah, the right side of the tire got shredded. I ran the recommended pressure, but still got pretty bad. Maybe I should invest in warmers.
@turkishexpress2 жыл бұрын
@@CubanRider Honestly with how good the new track tires are, I don't think you'll need warmers. I stopped using them a few years ago. I wasn't fast enough to benefit from them. As you get faster and as the track temperature usually rises throughout the track day, it's smart to check and adjust the pressures.

Great video, i love the talk through the corners. How do feel naked bikes compare on track to SS/SB? Ive only tracked my mt09 n mt10, and wonder just how much I'm giving up comparably...Obviously the rider is the main factor but curious of your thoughts
@CubanRider2 жыл бұрын
Hey Derek. Modern nakeds are very competent, I know Yamaha Champions Riding School useS MT-10s with very little modifications and ride them very quickly around the track. In my case, the Triumph already comes with premium suspension and brakes, so it's got a lot more of what I'm able to squeeze at the moment. The worst part of a naked for me, specially at this track, is the lack of wind protection on those long straights; I'm legit gripping the bars and holding at triple speeds specially not having very good seat support. I think with my current skills, I could easily get a stock MT-10 (with tires and brake pads) into the high 2:20s at COTA. That's a pace a lot of experienced track enthusiasts are not able to match with their 200 hp machines.
@derekdelotto63702 жыл бұрын
@@CubanRider Yeah your braking is ridiculous, I've deleted my front ABS which helps n tried a few different pads. N yes wind protection helps for sure, ive removed mine Lol!
