2 months ago I bought a used 2015 ninja 300 with 3000 miles on it. knowing nothing about riding and having zero riding experience I learned in 2 days. I absolutely love this bike it's beautiful , looks sporty , it's easy to learn on , excellent gas mileage , enough power and it's so nimble. it's ridiculously hard to mess up on this bike. only problem I have is I'm 6'2 200 pounds and I'm kinda cramped but it's still really comfortable. Awesome vid man !

In my opinion you have the right attitude and philosophy to life and your motorcycle , no need to get a bigger bike if your very happy with the one you got , it's small, light ,nimble ,economical and as you say plenty powerful ( as fast as 90% of cars) . So i say keep on enjoying your bike.

@desimc897 жыл бұрын
I adore my Ninja 300. It's one of 3 bikes I own (CBR600F4i, RVT1000R), and it's excellent for US public street riding. I urge anyone on the fence not to think twice about getting it -unless the SV650 or FZ07 are in your budget. Just like everyone doesn't need a BMW M5, you don't need a 90+ hp bike to have fun. If you live near good twisting roads, you may even leave higher-displacement riders behind depending on your skill level. It attracts a lot of positive attention from non-riders because it looks like a sexy supersport. The ABS brakes, slipper clutch, and linear throttle are very helpful for beginners. I only wish Kawasaki updated it since it's been out since 2013. Also, it lacks passing power from 80 mph to 90 mph, but I understand that few want this ability.

At 5'11" and 210lbs I rode mine 5hrs all interstate, 2 ways, around 80ish at approximately 8300 rpm, and it was all good. Butt started to cramp the last hour in each direction but my dual sport starts to cramp me up in about an hour so that's pretty good for a "beginner" bike In my opinion. It's definitely capable of more than city commutes it's quick and nimble, it's not gonna win any races against anyone with skill or hp, but it's a decent all around road bike for sure. I love mine

I got a 2016 ninja 300, I'm 5'10 and I sit comfortable on the seat. Though I do tend to side fallword and crush myself on the tank most times I try to sit as far back as I can. I have no problems on highway apart from numb feet from vibration, probably from been on the balls of my feet. Very easy to turn around on the twistie. Front brakes are okay "non abs" the back one's are not to flash okay for trail breaking and keeping bike while stopped. Overall very fun bike.
@ThisLifeRiding7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the thoughts man. I usually sit up against the tank. I find it the most comfortable. I had the same problem with feet getting numb for a while till I upgraded my boots. Don't ask me how it helped, it just did. Another thing you might consider is getting some rubber mounted foot pegs. That would all but remove the problem for you. Thanks for the comment.

A full textile mesh jacket with full armor pads. It will offer no abrasion protection but it will make the heat bearable. You you want a little better skid protection, get a half and half jacket. Usually has leather in shoulders and elbows but mesh everywhere else. Its warmer but better protection.

The bike has about 42k miles on it now, about 90% of that on the freeway and still no problems yet.

Great review!! Super reliable bikes...too bad the engines dont last this long when racing...the good news is they are super cheap to replace!!
@ThisLifeRiding7 жыл бұрын
Haha, how many miles have you put on the Ninja 300? I have almost 40k and the engine is still running great. No problems whatsoever.
@TheRedHeadRides7 жыл бұрын
When you're racing its the fact that the engines are not meant to be wound and ridden as hard as a 600 or a 1000, so they tend to break around 30-40k miles if you've been racing them hard. For a commuter, they will go double that no problem :)
@ThisLifeRiding7 жыл бұрын
Haha, I figured you were referencing racing. I think the Ninja 300 would make such a fun little track bike. It's no 600 but still, tons of fun in the twisties.

Is the bearings really the issue with shake when you take your hands off the bars?? my bike has done that basically since new. I wasnt sure what it was. Was leaning more towards bad factory tires.
@ThisLifeRiding7 жыл бұрын
When I switched out the bearings, I also switched out the front tire during the same service. So, from personal experience, I can't say it was the bearings alone. I have had other people who have reported to have changed the front tire but the problem remains. There is a possibility that it is both but after reading through a lot of forums, I tend to think it is the bearings causing the problem.

whats the process of getting your motorcycle license in the US? do here in Australia we have to do a 2 day course a multiple choice test and a practice riding test
@ThisLifeRiding7 жыл бұрын
We can either do that or take a written test, get a permit, ride for a certain amount of time, take a ridden test, then get our license. I like taking the two day course myself.

Nice video TLR,,the ninja 300 is a great bike and we race them over in England With the right gearing they do 120mph flat out,I had mine bouncing on the limiter at 118 at snetterton but was running wrong gear ratio,,check out some of my videosBut for new or old riders the ninja 300 is easy and forgiving but huge fun

Where in Arizona do you live? I'm in tuscon I'm looking to get my first bike and was hoping to get one of these, I was looking at a dealership and they were a bit out of my range for price? Do you know anyone selling a used one? Or a good way to find a used one

+TheBeastlyBeaver I'm in the east valley. I would suggest Craig's list.

What do you think a fair price would be for a used ninja 300? I'm in NC and there are A LOT of these bikes on Craigslist all for damn near the same price. Ex. 5000-10k miles for around $4000. Seems high as hell and the dealers want $4999-$5299 depending on color for brand new. I look in Florida and the same bikes are going brand new $3999. What gives?

Do you think that at some point you will trade in your current 300 for a newer one? Just curious! Your bike is a 2014 model,...do you see trading up to a 2017 model 300? 33,000 miles seems like a TON of miles for a motorcycle!
@ThisLifeRiding7 жыл бұрын
+NorfolkSouthern1068 Mmh, not sure. I hope to get at least 100k out of this bike. After that, who knows.
@NorfolkSouthern-xt3xx7 жыл бұрын
Even with some of the minor issues you have had with the bike,...would you say that overall it has given you very good service?
@ThisLifeRiding7 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah. I think it has served me just about as good as I would expect any bike to.

Did you get the 13 ninja 300 ? Im thinking of getting one and 2013 suits my budget. Just wondering is it as good as everyone says or is there another bike you wished you went with instead of the ninja.

So I'm 6'2 210 am I going to have to start on a 600/1000? I like the 300 from what I've seen about them but I'm afraid I'm just too big for it
@ThisLifeRiding7 жыл бұрын
+applecore91 Physical size has nothing to do with skill level. Super sports (600/1000cc bikes) are advanced level bikes. As a beginner, it is unwise to start on such a high level bike. I know a few guys well over six foot who enjoy the Ninja 300 as their daily riders. So no, you do not need to start on a super sport. Plus, it's just unsafe.
@tylerchurchwell17 жыл бұрын
I know I'm really late but I'm about 5'3 would you still recommend the bike to a shorter rider like myself?

I have the 2018 300 krt and love it wouldn't trade it for nothing.. had a 700 Suzuki intruder good bike but not fun just boring and not as smooth as this 300 it has all the power you need.

Hello,Im a new rider,been on a 2012 cbf125 the past year and I think about upgrading into the ninja 300 once I gather the money to get a brand new one,due to tax,insurance,maintenance cost and how good it looks,though I only have one concern about how would a 6'2,188 pound guy fit on it,if anyone of similar size could give his opinion I'd be glad to hear :]
@ThisLifeRiding7 жыл бұрын
You should be fine. I know guys taller then you who ride it as their daily and say its fine. Best ting to do is head to the dealer and sit on it for yourself. Only way to know for sure.
@pasder94397 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much tlr,that makes the concept of buying a ninja even more appealing as a long term bike! Ofc I'm going to try that for myself,but experience from other riders always helps.
