Got my R3 in 2022. Best beginner bike in my opinion, especially using a r6 throttle tube once you get used to the bike. I got an all black one, and people who don't know motorcycles think it's a liter bike. R3 is also fun to ride since it's easy to full throttle and shift gears as much as you want. A lot of it has to do with emissions. Using larger displacement to keep similar power figures. Negative to that is you get lower reving motors with bottom end grunt, super fun for seasoned riders, but tourqe is the last thing a brand new rider needs with zero experience. Most "Beginner" bikes have near 30ft-lbs of tourqe or more now and will pop the front up with a good twist in low gears.

They overpriced and made a mess of the release in R3 in India. Considering it used to be one of my favourite back in 2016 when I first rode it and wanted to finally buy (thinking it would be affordable), but no. Aprilia on the other hand with its release of RS457, nailed it. It offers more power and features at a much lower price in India. I still have mixed feelings about the release of Ninja 500, I preferred the Ninja 400 for its nimbleness, even though 500 might have more torque but once again it will be overpriced. That being said, Ninjas will do very well but mostly in the pre-owned market in India. KTM on the other hand is kicking ass but it has that hooligan/squid/chapri image in India. Really would have loved if RC390 new model got released soon. Honda again has disapponted by not launching a twin cylinder sports. Interesting, thanks for sharing David. I've been keeping a close eye on this bike since its release & hadn't heard about this. It's a pretty big deal imo cause firstly if the pattern continues it's not a good look for their all new CP engine. Secondly it puts a huge question mark over the bikes reliability in the long term. Could see many unhappy owners in the future especially if the issue rears its head anytime after the warranty has expired. In Australia their new 450 MT adventure bike with the same engine is being released early this year, currently on preorder. So far it's garnered heaps of interest as us Aussies have been itching for a small displacement adventure bike like this for years & Cfmoto have really delivered. Any idea if Cfmoto have sorted a fix with a revised bearing so it won't affect their new adventure bike engine ?

Disagree, the entry level category doesn’t need to get faster. A true beginner bike should specifically be slow and lightweight with more forgiving throttles to keep riders from making disastrous mistakes. There are less riders on the road than ever and yet fatalities are steadily climbing even with better technology and I believe that has much to do with the culture of starting on bikes way too fast for them. (Recently rode with a new rider that started on a m109…I told him to be careful but lo and behold a month later he totaled it after riding only 4 months)

Right now, the only bikes I'd consider are the coming RS457, the Ninja 500 (451cc), or the RC390. On another note.... what about the low-revving, bulky Honda CBR500R (471cc)? Take a middle weight bike that weighs more than a 600 supersport and shove a dull 180° parallel twin low-revving tractor motor into it. How.... Honda-like. Honestly your better off going with a ninja 400....the r3 has so many recalls, the ninja 400 is a great bike all around and way more speed you wont outgrow it as quickly as the r3. Plus they are always in demand and hold a great resell value I may be bias as I own a ninja 400 and honestly 17,000 miles in and I still love it... Good luck though on whatever u choose

In Indonesia, the Yamaha R25 (Asian version of the R3) cannot compete with the CBR250RR, even losing sales to the ZX25RR which is much more expensive.
@Daniel-dj7fh11 ай бұрын
How much does the 250rr cost compared to the R25?
@nix29411 ай бұрын
They really need to slap in a smaller cc CP2 engine into the R3 if they want to compete.
@Eye_of_Samadhi9 ай бұрын
The R3 engine should've been a cross plane from the beginning IMO. If not in the 1st Gen AT LEAST in the 2nd Gen update from 2019 onwards it should've received a CP2.

I've been saying the same thing on the high price big 4 brands in my country on their lower cc 2023 model underbone category that still use disposable rim, cheap bulb, poor analog panel and drum brake, while the underbone china bike in my country offers cheap price that is monoshock, all led, inverted front shock, full digital dash with hazard lights and passing light, all disc brake and stylish mags.

I love my cf moto 450.. but a R5 would be a great addition to the Cf Moto, Honda, Kawasaki and Aprillia mix, Sorry Ktm... you had your chance to bring out the 490, But chose not to, so you get left behind for now....

Can you make a new video about all the new 2024 Yamaha bikes?
@setsuna.ch40111 ай бұрын
i mean, with the manufacturing partnership with in China with CFMoto, why won't Yamaha extend it to technology sharing so they can borrow the 450 engine from CF and build an R4/R5 from there? The current CFM 450 engine is bulletproof -- it is an evolution of the 400 NK engine anyway, which was derived also from Kawasaki's ER6N when CFM was manufacturing for them. They just need to put their own mapping to make it a bit more efficient (the CM 450 engine guzzles gas like craaazy), put their own bodywork/accessories, an call it a day

nice video i love the data and facts. but go back to what you said about EU laws, the horse power allowed on beginner bikes is 48hp for A2, glazing the CF Moto 450SS over R3 is crazy when its not even allowed as a A2 with its 50hp?

R3 they need to do something about the R1 lol it feels date af compared to a Ducati or a S1k.

yo r3 costs 5.2k $ same with cfmoto 450sr in my country and ninja 400 cost 6k $, and motorcycles with less than 400cc are not permitted on express highways here.
