I still love that, that mission is effectively supposed to be one of the most powerful of the Assassin's and they bring half a squad of chumps and 2.5 good dudes. That was never going to end well.

You need dogs for this mission due to their inherent anticamo btw. Use them as frontliners and take out ninjas with whatever you want preferably incendiary so them being on fire eliminates their camo value

Rats are the best at spotting hidden units, for whatever reason. I think that doing this as a night mission might actually be easier. You have the same distance to see them, but at least their vision is reduced. In the latest versions, deploying a bunch of position markers might also be a good strategy.

The worst thing about this series is that Lewis just got bored of it about half way through and would just grumpily be wrong, refuse to read, and sabotage Ben at like every opportunity. Idk why he kept doing it honestly he really seemed to hate it

I've played other mods that used those mechanics so I know what's going on. They either have a thing that reduces how far they can be seen from, or a thing that makes them only visible from a limited distance. The second is more powerful so it's probably that. In which case you need probably a specific armor to counteract it. Is there one of those in that mod pack? I don't know, but I don't remember it ever coming up during the whole playthrough so I'm guessing not.

@@orangesilver8 IIRC, "camo" was a value that units had which subtracted from the distance at which they could be seen. In other words, your first hypothesis. Ninjas in X-Com Files had a high camo value, and the lads had a lot of trouble seeing them, though sometimes they did spot them before they struck. Since they rally didn't like using "bibbers" (re: motion detectors) much, ninjas were a recurring problem for them.

@@Yeèeeeeeeeeyeeeee Yup! Basically you need motion trackers to be able to locate them from further away... And dogs have that built in with their sniffers. Alternatively, you can just go Predator on their ass and hose the entire area down with minigun fire, but that's not great if you want them alive. ^^

IIRC dogs and/or scoutbots can counter camo and also motion detector could be useful but you'd have to get close to use them.
