Eric... HOLY HELL... I've been trying to figure this out for a couple of days. Ordered the Security Torx and everything. When I discovered the lines were clean I was really worried I wouldnt be able to fix it. I came across your video and it was absolutely the boiler! The evaporation inside the boiler clearly causes the sediment in the water to be left behind and build up inside! I ended up used a copper bore brush (from a rife cleaning kit), and after cleaning it all out perfectly, I'm now running a successful cleaning cycle with 70% white vinegar and 30% water solution! Thank you so much!

The flow meter detects reduced flow signaling the maker to do the five beeps. I went through six videos, including yours, and cleaned the hose and the scale off in three different ways. It worked for a week before the beep came back. I told Ninja on Twitter about it, and others did, too. Template response. Treated you like a generic customer and not a person. If they would've responded on Twitter with real solutions, I'd have stuck with it, but when the beep came back after a week, I said, "Okay, that's it." I later bought an Aeropress for $30 and it makes better coffee, faster (as fast as you can get hot water), quieter, and you can take it anywhere. That said, thanks for the video, Eric. It helped.

Apreciate the tutorial, my Ninja is about 4 years old and refuses to make a full pot of coffee, I have run dozens of clean cycles, still getting ol 5 beep stop. Just bought a new on on sale, gonna try and tear down the old one and fix it for a spare. :)

The "motor" is actually a flow meter that detects the water flow and is the culprit for the cleaning light and no brew. The boiler is designed so it could be very severely scaled and still work. So if you are gonna deep clean it like this, you can open the flow sensor and de gunk it too. Alternatively, you can clear the sensor with compressed air to free the paddle wheel inside. When done, run the cleaning cycle as normal to purge the error code and remove the remaining junk. 🙃

Tried this method and it still wouldn’t work. Last ditch effort before throwing it away was to take it out to my shop and put high pressure air from my compressor through it (sealed it with my fingers so the air made it into the machine really well). Blew a lot of dirty water out from every orifice of the machine but it worked!

I had loose white scale chunks inside the boiler, and also build up on the sides. Cleaned out the loose stuff then I stuffed dry paper towels inside and soaked them with white vinegar. I let them set for a long time to break up the stuck on scale. This helped in hard to reach areas. Anything else i carefully scraped away. Its like a new machine now.

So I tried this first and it didn't resolve the issue. Still kept getting the 5 beeps and then the machine would stop. After I turned the whole machine over the sink and pressed the black part where the water filter would normally sit, a bunch of water drained out. Tried it again and STILL got the beeps when I pressed Classic Brew. Unplugged the machine, plugged it back in, pressed RICH brew AND it started working!!! Didn't have to mess around with the inside of the machine. Not sure I would've been able to AND put it back together lol. I was assuming at that point that just the Classic brew option was broken. I noticed 5-8 large white flakes when I checked the filter where you'd normally put the coffee grounds. Then pressed the Classic brew option and it started working too!!! Has been working great ever since.

Thank you sir! I just gave this a shot and am in the middle of a clean cycle with vinegar. The carafe is SO GROSS with all the gunk I was scraping (the stuff I couldn't finish removing manually). We just bought a new one, but I'm excited to see if this fix is something that'll handle the issue more long-term.

Ok so to fix this issue here is what I found. I tried everything and nothing fixed this. What I did was added a cup of vinegar to reservoir. I then ran the clean cycle until I got the 5 beeps and the coffee maker stopped. I then took off the reservoir and that little plunger that is on the base where the reservoir mates pushed it for around a minute. Water will start pouring out of it. Continue to clean it off until you no longer see any water. Fill the reservoir up with 2/3 vinegar and run the clean cycle. If you get all of the way through it then you have fixed it. This a design flaw and bottom line to stay away from these. The issue will come back again. All non Ninja coffee makers I have owned have never had this type of issue. I own the Foodie and it works great but now question if I would ever buy another Ninja product.

Nice video, thanks. NOW, can someone help solve the OPPOSITE problem... my Ninja (CF097) has started dispensing LESS and LESS liquid each month. To get the same amount of brew I've had to bump the dial from TRAVEL (16oz) to XL MULIT-SERVE (20oz) and now up to HALF CARAFE (25oz) just to get the same amount of coffee brew. It puts out a LOT of steam & takes longer and longer but only a slow drip comes out. This unit has NEVER had anything in it but pure distilled water (no minerals at all). What is the mechanism that decides how much liquid is dispensed? Is it a timer?
@christopherleubner6633 Жыл бұрын
This is because the boiler is made of an aluminum zinc alloy that will corrode in pure water, regular soft water will work well.
@jesse420SOCAL Жыл бұрын
I took it apart and scrub/ scraped all calcium off and put it in clean mode and it still didn't want to work. So put it in clean mode over and over bc ton white chunks coming out. Solution was to put it in clean mode and rock it back and forth like crazy dyer machine and it forced bigger chunks obstructing tubes to come loose and all fall out. And it's now working on its own. Guess it needed tough love to force big objects through causing less water flow. Yet and just put vinegar and water and more white chunks will come out and just repeat till its fully clean.

Machine damaged due to putting plug to 220v socket. Does this machine have fuse in it ??
@Inertia8885 жыл бұрын
👀 I have been studying the machine today, trying to find out how to open the top to clean the water sprayer. I am still not able to find what I need. But I did find some information that might be helpful to you. 🔎 I suspect there is a fuse somewhere but I have not found one yet. There are however a handful of capacitors that could blow if a high current were to go through the circuit. There is also a relay switch that is rated for something like 12vDC, 250vAC-125vAC... I am not an electrician but it sounds like the current that ran through your machine was close to the max that the relay can handle. All of the electrical components are located on the back of the panel, where all the buttons are but it is coated with a waterproofing polymer stuff. I am thinking that you might have to replace the whole panel? Not certain though.... 🔎 The best place to go to find out answers like this is "' ifixit.com " they have a page where you can post your question, and an expert will take a look and get back to you. They also have step by step instructions with detailed photos that explain how to do it all yourself.
@EricWadsworth5 жыл бұрын
Oh, that sucks! I didn't see any fuses, but I wasn't paying any attention to the electronics at all. My guess: It's toast. :(
@Inertia8885 жыл бұрын
@@EricWadsworth ya.. it might be. depends on your definition toast I suppose. if you take it apart on test all the components with an electrical current tester, you might be able to identify where the broken circuit is. if it did end being just a capacitor, or some replaceable part, you could (faily) easily replace that. the hardest part would be the waterproofing they use on the board. but if if all of that isn't worth your time... a new one might be your answer!

This seems like a more in-depth method of descaling... Why not just use the "clean" function?
@sailiante5 жыл бұрын
Bc if it's gummed up on the inside, the water & cleaning solution (vinegar, descaler, etc.) WON'T FLOW to allow cleaning

also, the problem might be air in the line, which still requires removing the bottom but not descaling as this video suggests, which is still a more thorough cleaning than you might get with the automated method. The air in the line seems to cause a similar problem to calcium build-up, which essentially blocks water flow and triggers the system into thinking it's out of water. There is a video here that explains how to get the air out of the line. Between these two videos, you should resolve the problem kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJyWl3x5bbeJnKc

Check the clamps on the silicone hoses inside the machine. That may be the issue. Hope it’s not too late and I hope it’s all it is. Good luck.
@charleso59404 жыл бұрын
Yep. I had the EXACT same problem. Make sure you push the hose ALL the way back up on the pump lines (over the 2 ridges; about 1/2 inch apart); and get that clamp in between the two ridges. Also double check where the tube connected to the reservoir; that you didnt accidently pull too hard/tear it. I tested mine by putting my finger over the hose before connecting to the pump; and connecting the reservoir with a bit of water. With my finger over the hose; nothing came out. Also make sure you get the pump and seal FLAT and securely inserted back to the top of the boiler.
