If you haven't played this and say it's good, don't worry...I said the same thing. And wow is this game absolutely no fun. Sure the fast-paced action is fun for a bit, but it falls off quickly once you realize that is literally all you do and it's not presented all that well nor does it feel like you accomplished anything. Press attack a few times and Bam!, sword through the chest. It has no feeling of satisfaction to it whatsoever. It also has one of the most nonsensical, un-fun boss fights I've ever experienced in about 20 years of gaming. That dinosaur fight is absolutely terrible. You're first thought it "Wow, it's a dinosaur with robot stuff strapped to it...cool." Then you realize all you do is let it trip over itself and hack at it for an unknown period of time (people have fought it for 10 minutes just spamming the attack button). Much like the game it just has no feeling to it. I was really hoping this game would be better than it was reviewed as the challenge of these games always drew me to them. They were fast-paced but you had to think about nearly every attack you made. I could live without an interesting story as it's not why most people play this series, but when you botch the gameplay, its core feature, it turns a challenging yet fun game into a chore and complete waste of time.

Worst part is the two deadly chicks (Ayane and Momiji) are NPC's in the game. In Razor's Edge, they are playable and Ayane has her own chapters too.

I think the game was really good. Yeah the game may have gone mainstream, but that's not necessarily bad. I've played all of the Ninja Gaiden games and 3 is by far my favorite. I wasn't too happy about how easy it was, but that's what harder difficulties are for. Maybe I just like my games to have a better story or something, but I saw nothing wrong with NG3.

I got this game a couple of days ago, and with this being my first ninja gaiden game I was absolutely blown away, by how repetitive and simplistic it was after the first five minutes of gameplay. I truly expected more out of this game, the baddies suck, fighting requires no real skill, and overall I got the since that I was just this unnecessarily overpowered badass put up against a bunch of untrained noobs which gives the feeling of watching some over the top action film. GOW3 had more depth then this because you actually had variety of weapons that could be collected and used to pull of some really sick combos, real creative combos that required knowledge of each weapon, utilization of different controls, and awareness so your move wouldn't be interrupted by an enemy attack, and speaking from experience that can be a difficult thing to pull off when you have hoards of enemies on screen all charging you at the same time. I tried to find the same amount of depth in this game but it seemed like every time I worked up half an effort to do something other then mash square button my little combo proceeded into an instant kill move or some quick time event which though flashy is not very rewarding since it only took pressing one button to do. Overall review is legit, the only thing this game has going for it is graphics, but that's about it, gameplay wise the whole experience is most comparable to naruto uzamaki chronicles, I heard some great stuff about the ninja gaiden games, and I wanted to give this game a chance, I really tried to get into it, but I just couldn't maintain enough interest to play beyond several minutes to an hour, hopefully this won't be the case with the previous titles.

You should definitely tryout Ninja Gaiden Black (Ninja Gaiden Sigma for PS3) and Ninja Gaiden 2 (Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for PS3). Those two games were what made the NG series amazing with Ninja Gaiden Black being the best entry in the series. They will challenge you to no end and the game won't even feel cheap.

I honestly don't see any of these problems. The controls are a bit unresponsive at times but aside from that the game is very solid and incredibly difficult. Yes there is room for improvement but for the most part, it was a blast. Collectors Edition at Gamestop was 20$ so why not.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with this video 150%. Ninja Gaiden 3 is a A LOT of fun. I even like this one better than the first one. This one just has 100 times more action in it and it is arcade style with instant action (the way I like it). If you liked the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade series, then you’ll LOVE this if you don’t mind all the blood and guts. I kind of think if they were going to make a Ninja Gaiden series for next gen consoles like when they ported this to the Xbox, it should have started out like this in my opinion, because the NES version was more of an instant action/instant gratification game like this one. The first Xbox Ninja Gaiden was ok, but it was kind of boring because it’s a bit like an RPG style. I mean, I like RPGs too but not with Ninja Gaiden. I like the arcade-kick ass kind of game. This is just my opinion. Here is why I sometimes don’t pay attention when some games get rated or sometimes take them with a grain of salt. But anyway, this is my opinion for what it’s worth!

HE360 Honestly, I just really enjoy the fast paced action and gore. Repetitive or not, it doesn't really bother me. Overall, it's not a super great game. But it doesn't have to be for me, because I like the simplicity of hacking and slashing. We all need at least one game that's simply fun. A shame if it pales in comparison to the others, though.

Sorry but I love this game. It may not be great as the others but it shows contrast and fine graphics. The other two were interesting at least for sigma games. The multiplayer is awful and story was shifty but it far different from previous games. I score it 7.5.

No. The story has a lack of development for each character. Ryu does follows true to why the original games were fun and challenging. The story was straight forward of what missions, enemies, and putting cliffhanger. However, I didn't like of how they showing little part of conclusion of the story by putting the scene in beginning, then continue it at end. I don't think anyone cares about the story but seeing ending boss at beginning is ridiculous. Anyways, the gameplay and graphics are actually cool. My first time playing felt this was Ryu's darker version of the trilogy. Oh, for your question: shifty Thank you for listening and replying

Yes, you should read about it, but i will tell you some here. There is now dismemberment, an upgrade system, and new weapons. The camera has gotten far better, and the framerate has been improved. There are a lot more upgrades too.

if there is one thing ive noticed about all the ng series is the camera is by far the worst offender. i can understand that the action is fast paced, if that is the case they really need to spend a bit more time on the camera so it works for all aspects and not just the larger areas.

I like the Ninja Gaiden series and I love this installment. it's very high tech dark & gritty. The story is hard to follow at times yes but, once you get it you get it. I think the games are awesome this one really grew into something very different but to me also very familiar. Sure it plays different and it's not what you expect from the series but, I think its growing in a new direction and it's somewhat interesting!

OK ok, I know this is the internet and no one cares, but this was my personal favorite. You're showing the very very few times the camera glitches, the ultimate technique perspective makes you feel like a badass, and on the higher difficulties, the ninpo saved my life so many times, even though it wipes the board, there is usually a second or third round of waves to screw with you. You are focusing on the bad parts of ninja gaiden 3, and the giant spiders and dinosaurs are the best.

It's too bad really. I beat Ninja Gaiden and 2 on the Xboxes and the Sigmas on PS3. It's still fun for me but they really dulled down everything that made the franchise great. It doesn't take much skill and they got rid of the Muramasa shop and essence, the combat has too many of the same enemies, there are no healing items and ninpo slots and weapons are just given to you instead of earned. I guess they tried to make it more user friendly. It feels a stripped down and too basic Ninja Gaiden. I still liked it though. I'm pretty sure this game directed by Yosuke Hayashi instead of Tomonobu Itagaki. EDIT: This is after playing Razor's Edge, I had 3 before but beat it a while ago and decided to play Razor's Edge again.

I'm beating razor's edge again. they pretty much have all the weapons like the lunar staff, scythe and stuff. i didnt think i saw the tonfa or vigoorian flail though. you don't even use the dragon sword in the game. there is an upgrading system in razor's edge, not sure about ng3. but in razor's edge you use your karma points to upgrade them. but for some reason it's still not too satisfying

It's a fighting game, not an RPG story. All the characters are culturally diverse, and have unique individual stories. The fighting system is beyond any other fighting game out there. It has counter hold, punishment and evasion system which distinguishes it self from any other Fight game. It requires timing, educated guesses, patterns and reading the other player. Not like other games where you button mash to win, and the only defense is to block. DOA has the best fighting system out there.

That's why Ninja Gaiden is known to be one of the most difficult games of all time and was said that most people would never beat it. And you need, *GASP* skill to do something difficult. Which is one of the reasons why this game fails and 1 and 2 were so much better. A lot of people complained they couldn't beat NG2 on easy. A lot of people complained about not beating NG1 on normal, there wasn't easy mode until Black. Even on easy, you have to block, counter and learn patterns.

I already know about the Wii U version. Razor's Edge is basically "Ninja Gaiden 3: The Good Edition." The more I see gameplay of it, the more it pisses me off. It's what NG3 should have been, minus the edition of Ayane, I never liked playing as the chicks. The only reason why Team Ninja deserves a second chance was because Dead or Alive 5 was actually good. Even so, I ain't getting a Wii U.

Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 were absolutely amazing. There was so much depth focused on the combat, where as in this game all you do is mash square throughout the entire game. I can understand that SOME people might enjoy the game, but I think those are the younglings that hadn't played the previous Ninja Gaidens. This game really just felt like a stab in the back to all NG fans. The only thing Ninja Gaiden 3 has in common with the previous Ninja Gaidens, is the name. If they had given Ryu a different name and skin, no one would even have suspected this to be a NG game.

Ninja Gaiden 1 was my first NG game back in 2004. I was 6 years old. I never got to complete it with my dad and brother because it increasingly got harder. But it was a fun challenge. It's a shame we never completed it. We could have if we trained more for the game. The best fight was Alma. The story was excellent. I wish I could play it again and completed. I did complete NG 2 and 3 because they were easier than 1. But even so, I still could have completed NG 1 with more determination.

i will. well, people are hating mainly for this two things: first, the game has 4 difficulties. the lower two are pieces of cake that anyone can complete, than makes ninja gaiden fans angry, cause there's usually one of those in each game. the thir difficulty, Hard, is not easy. for a casual game, it's actually hard, i reckon. BUT, for ninja gaiden fans, it's easy, since everyone that has played the past games knows what the meaning of the words "extraodinarily hard and frustrating" mean.

I just bought ninja gaiden sigma 2 today and man that's an underrated game! I sat for hours and hours just playing the goddamn game. Couldn't stop. I'm definitely buying this game. If just because I love Sigma 2, but I seriously doubt it deserves a 3 out of 10.

To be fair, they've right... Ninja Gaiden was always a game for hardcore players.. I can't remember how many joysticks are broken now because of the dificulty of the old games.. Now, none of my joysticks are broken! Did I became a peacefull guy, or just this game was to easy?

I'm a hands down die hard fan but, with Itagaki's departure from Team Ninja, this series went from Ninja Gaiden to Ninja Gay-den!!!!!!

Most negative reviews on MW3 is because they felt it was just an extension of MW2, and they have a point, it was a rip off. That's for the PC review of From Dust, and it wasn't just the annoying DRM there were badly ported over controls and a low frame rate. As for the poor Xbox reviews, well some people had a fair point giving it a zero because they got RROD several times, but other people just wanted to hate. Anyway, this is all just opinions. No point arguing about it.

i was just gonna buy ninja gaiden 3 and finally understand why my friends kept on raving about the ninja gaiden series all these years....then i watched this. Can someone please tell me which ninja gaiden i should get so i can finally tell my friends i've played a ninja gaiden game, but at the same time not be disappointed?

Gonna make this short cuz I want ppl to read it. Waited for ng3 for a year despite bad reviews I gave in and bought it. It's not worth $60. I think game informer said it best. It's a full game demo. Game is definitely incomplete. One ninpo one weapon no upgrades no dismemberment. IMO if you are a true ninja gaiden fan at least borrow it and play because the steel on bone is amazing. Especially when chaining 2 or 3 after each other

I give the game a 7.5 because the campaign is not as long. Repetitious Fights, Only 1 Magic, and not good explanation how to do moves. You have to figure out this on your own. But this game still is great because of the amazing graphics and the constant combat and good character development for Ryu Hayabusa. This game deserves way better than a 3!!

regardless of the mixed reviews, the game simply has not lived up to the hype and doesn't deserve any credibility from critics. I'm sure getting mixed isn't that much better if you have really high expectations. also yes that's exactly my point about CoD, you said ign would just tive cod the highest to make it sell the most but it actually only got 8.5 whereas loads of other games got much higher scores during that year.
