I don’t know if y’all know this but Ryu Hayabusa was the first ever Dead or alive character. Which is the fighting game I told you guys to check out a while back and you have like one video on it but I also told you guys to check Dead Fantasy as well which is a cross over battle between the ladies of Dead or alive and the ladies of Final Fantasy basically. Although Ryu is not the main protagonist of the DOA series (“Dead or alive for short”) that title goes to the post girl Kasumi but he is one of them. He is a legendary Ninja from I believe the 80s and has been ever since. This is basically the first Ninja Gaiden game we have gotten in over 10 years!. Please do check out Dead Fantasy and more dead or alive and even Ninja Gaiden cinematic scenes or trailers.

Guys we officially WON, our boy, the ONE and ONLY RYU MOTHER FREAKING HAYABUSA is finally back and more badass than ever!!! This wasn’t on my 2025 list but OOOH MY GOD, I I’m all in on the ninja way. To top it all off, it’s being made by Platinum Games, who did FREAKING Metal Gear Rising!!!

So for context, Ninja Gaiden games (sans 3 and now 4) took place before Dead or Alive (the fighting games.) The canon regarding the NES NG games are up in the air, so think of them as another split timeline and Ninja Gaiden Ragebound will be in that timeline. NG 3 takes place before DoA 5 and DoA 6 takes place before NG 4. Yakumo Raven is new, but there are always rival ninjas (the most recent was a villain protagonist, called Yaiba and he was sorta a zombie ninja who lost to Ryu and got mad.) Yakumo is similar to Yaiba in some ways, but as a good guy rival (from what we can see.) They mention that characters may return, so I expect some NG and DoA characters to return (Rachel, Ayame, Momiji, Sonya, Kasumi, and maybe Hayate.) NG went on a long vacation and DoA became a Gacha/beach volleyball series and dating sim (DoA: Prism in March 2025), so people were uncertain of Ryu’s future, until Ragebound (new 2D game), 4 (sequel), and 2 Black (remake/remaster/definitive edition of the most popular NG game.) Tecmo Koei having a renaissance with NG, Dynasty Warriors, and Atelier Yumia. Despite the new graphics and protagonist, rest assured that this is just how NG games look and play like, but with some added finishers and is slightly faster and just as difficult (around as difficult as Souls games or sometimes tougher.) Modern NG games are all about magic, demons, modern/high technology, ‘unbreakable’ guarding, platforming, fast and difficult, and brutality/insta-kills.

Ninja Gaiden is a very old franchise. The first game came out for the SNES in Japan in 1988 and released in America in 1989. The last main entry this series had was 3, and it was HATED. Even when it got an upgraded version, the damage was already done and apparently the upgraded version was still disliked due to how different the gameplay was in 3 compared to 1 & 2. Ninja Gaiden 3 was 12 years ago. That's a very long time for a franchise to go without a mainline entry and in terms of numbers, this was the last 3D game to come out. And the only recent game of the series (Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound) is a 2D callback to it's roots which was just last year. The fact we now have 2 new games coming out was such a pleasant and welcome surprise. This game, which is now the 4th installment of the 3D games. And a remake of Ninja Gaiden 2 which is the most beloved of the 3D series.

Yet, NG3 was the first console Ninja Gaiden game I played (first in general being NG Dragon Sword on the Nintendo DS), and I actually still enjoy it. Having gone back and played Sigma 1 and 2 via the master collection, I can’t say it’s as good as the first two, but it’s still a solid and enjoyable game for me.

They actually re-released the previous 3D Ninja Gaiden games a few years ago as the Ninja Gaiden Master Collection, and alongside this announcement they released a remastered version of the 3D Ninja Gaiden II. Fair warning, though, those games are INCREDIBLY difficult. You'd definitely want to play on the lowest difficulty. If you want to learn more about Ninja Gaiden through videos, I'd suggest the Angry Video Game Nerd's review of the NES original, and the Death Battle of Ryu Hayabusa Vs. Strider Hiryu.

One of my favorite childhood games! My older brother introduced me to this series when i was very young but I'll let you guys know, it's fun but also STRESSFUL at the same time. Im glad it's back because it's been a long time since they released a ninja gaiden game.

@LEGNDARY_MIST already brought it up. The main character of this series is actually part of a fighting game series called "Dead or Alive" because both Ninja Gaiden and DOA are under Koei Tecmo. He was meant to be a guest character in the first game, but people loved him so much, that they decided to make him a staple character of the fighting game series. And the thing is, over time, more characters from Ninja Gaiden would make their way into the DOA series. I've already got a certain DOA video in mind for you two to react to for a Fight Night Friday. It looks very good.After the failure of the third part, this is the opportunity for the saga to return to its rightful place. The trailer looks very promising. Interesting that we'll be controlling two different ninjas instead of just Ryu.

HELL YEAH 💪💪 My boy Ryu Hayabusa is back, Finally after 12 LONG YEARS since the last Ninja Gaiden game was made, The last game, Ninja Gaiden 3, was such a complete rubbish and disappointment, but hopefully this one turns out a great comeback for Team Ninja. This is Bloodier and Gorier than ever which i love in the Ninja Gaiden games And whats even more interesting is Team Ninja and PlatinumGames are the developers of this new Ninja Gaiden project Ken and Beth, if yall dont know or are not familiar with PlatinumGames Theyre the same Video game developer company who made and worked on game products like Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising & Vanquish. And it's amazing that Them and Team Ninja are working together with Ninja Gaiden 4

Ninja Gaiden is one the oldest games ever, and also the hardest ones too. It's a 40 year franchise that came out since the NES era. In the 2000s they rebooted it on the Xbox. That spawned Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2. I was pretty shocked that they're making a 4th one, but great to see Ryu Hayabusa again.
