It took me years to even realise that this was a Ninja Gaiden game. In the UK it was renamed Shadow Warriors. It wasn’t until some years later that I found out that they had changed the title and that the game I had played was in fact Ninja Gaiden.

Might have to do with the same silly reason you guys had “Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles” but in the US they’re called “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Genesis version has remained true to the arcade formula, but being a completely new game at the same time. It's a shame that the game was not officially released at the time.

The arcade original is kinda a mediocre beat em up as well, when comparing it to other contemporaries. Other than destructible objects, it doesn't do anything that other beat em ups did better than it.

La versión de Megadrive es un desastre, no me sorprende que se cancelara su lanzamiento. Megadrive podría haber “clavado” el arcade si ningún problema, no hay más que ver la excepcional versión de Amiga.

Both of theses games are graphically better than the NES game, but as far as fun factor and gameplay the NES is the best version.

Usually arcades always better but this time.. the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis win.. it's kind of between arcade in the NES of course Graphics are better than NES and yes it's different game than the NES version of Ninja Gaiden..but Nes is faster and play like a ninja not just beat em up..but there both are good in different ways

How can you even compare the awesome 24-bit arcade original to a poor, pathetic 16-bit imitation, dude??? Like how in the hell is that even fair??? The arcade easily slays the cheap home console versions. The NES version was only good because of its great story and shockingly nice cutscenes, but that was about it - the game sucked compared to all the bad ass fighting that was in the arcade. This Mega Drive version is cool, but doesn't remotely measure up to the mighty arcade.
