I just got this over the weekend and used it for the first time on Sunday. I love it so far. I'm thinking it doesn't slope down because if a pound's worth of bacon grease was constantly going into the trap there, it may overflow down the front. Just scraping the oil into it seems safer to me. I just plan on using some paper towels to soak up the grease if I ever cook that much bacon. I'm a single guy so the size of this is very appealing to me. That's why I'm replacing my larger Ninja grill with this one. It's big enough for me.

You could also put something, like a poker chip or really anything, under the back feet when you're cooking super greasy stuff...or just lift the back end up to let the grease run forward when you're done. If they'd have built it with much more angle then people would complain that eggs, pancakes etc were sliding down.

Las Vegas here! I love your channel and videos! The grease well isn’t a deal breaker for me since I typically do bacon on sheet pan with parchment paper in the oven, but mainly I just want a griddle surface to cook on instead of using the frying pan all the time. This seems to fit the bill. I do have an electric griddle like the one you described your mom having, and mine totally collects dust in the cabinet too, lol! It takes up too much space to leave on the counter. Just a tip, but if you spread a bit of mayo on the english muffins before putting them on the grill, they’ll they should toast up better. I do it for grilled cheese too. Thanks for the video!

I come from a larger family of 8. Even the electric traditional griddles do not hold much grease. Often leading to a mess overflowing onto the counter, since the trap is under the pan and you can’t see the amount inside. Even cooking bacon in a pan can be messy and even dangerous. This looks to be safer and even cleaner than most.

I have the Sizzle. In fact, my first one was returned because I felt (as well as Ninja) it ran exceptionally hot. The replacement is doing same thing. It is like it runs 25-50 degrees hotter than where dial is set. I actually love the grease well as it is easier to clean out than that on the 7n1 Griddle Grill. Then again, I have never cooked an entire package of bacon on the griddle. I prefer mine AF. As for the popping, mine does that as well. It may be from changes in temp causing expanding and contracting of metals. Is that a thing? 😊

I just bought one, waiting for it to arrive soon, I couldn't find one with the cook times on the front, not that I'd use it but perhaps they decided it wasn't a good idea to do that especially where it only shuts off manually anyway, plus things could be under cooked. As far as grease not going into the slot I suppose check the level on your Island but otherwise it's an inexpensive cooker, relatively, so just put a piece of cardboard under the back legs or figure something more permanent. Do other products do it better? Maybe they didn't tilt it further to avoid stuff like eggs sliding into the grease trap
@Miatachick18 күн бұрын
I have one with both trays and love, love, LOVE it! You need to let your bread on to toast a little longer, because it WILL do it! It makes the absolute best pancakes(!).....they are pretty much perfect every time! For those people that are giving the Blackstone E-Griddle thought, pull the trigger on this one instead! I've had both and this one BY FAR is hotter and doesn't lose heat when you add your foods to it. There isn't the same amount of real estate as the E-Griddle but you will be far happier with the cook and that is because this one stays hot! When it comes to the grease , i just move it to the trap, so that hasn't been a problem. You do the same thing if you own any brand of flattop. When you fry, it's a given there is going to be a mess. Little confused by the timer comment. I own two gas fired Blackstones and had the Blackstone E-Griddle that I moved along because it was disappointing, however none of them came with a timer. Everyone want a different temp of burger anyway. :)

lol, after you were talking about people getting upset about 'onions' and 'over-easy eggs', I'm waiting for people to get upset about the mayo. We put a small amount of mayo and Dijon mustard on our breakfast sandwiches, and it's really good. :) One would think that a device like this should have adjustable back feet? Too bad they missed this. I do like this appliance however. Great review! :)

The larger chicken breast tool longer to cook mate, no surprises there. If I want a crispy sandwich I throw the buns in the air fryer for a few mins, works a treat.

I’m gonna hazard a guess that the reason it’s called a flat top is so that the items cook in their own juices as a Plancha grill in a professional kitchen would do, the grease trap is just there for ease of clearing the grease off 🤷♂️.

Your counter isn’t level, the food itself ‘bacon’ holds grease around it while it’s cooking. Look at the seating surface of each of the exchangeable cooking tops for obstructions that would make it not level or the griddle feet itself. I love mine, it woks so much better then any others but when I received it as a gift I knew it was going to be a solid thing for my wife and I to make smash burgers at home and this thing made me the best smash burgers I have ever had on the first attempt! (Never made smash burgers myself) That being said it’s a good size for a couples meal. Also just a thought, you could steam warm buns or preheat other things that don’t need to be hot on the top while you’re cooking burgers, I’ve had it since Christmas and don’t hate it…

Thanks for the video. The reason your bacon grease didn’t drain properly is because you didn’t press the grill into place in the first place. That click you hear when you’re mopping up bacon grease with a paper towel was the griddle lowering into place.
@TheAverageKitchen10 ай бұрын
I’ll have to try that out. Thanks for the heads up on that !! Marc

When a grill does not have holes that allow the grease and juices to fall through, you end up steaming your steak a little.
