That's what I find funny about this. Ninja pointed out that it had nothing to do with hating/disliking females, but to avoid people taking things that are said and twisted to look bad and posted online/sent to his wife. People are doing exactly what he said he wanted to avoid and it proves him right, most people who watch streamers/youtubers are fucking nuts. I totally see where Ninja is coming from. The Myth and Pokimane scenario is the best example. There was a livestream where the chat was just horrendous and harassing them over it all. Ninja is at the top of Twitch right now and would be smart to not jeopardize that. Yeah that Teen Choice Awards event was terrible.I stumbled upon it with my brother like 40 minutes in and it was like a car crash where we couldn't look away. The performances were so bad especially that Khalid guy. I already knew once I saw Lele Pons was hosting that it would be hard to watch, but I still somehow underestimated it. I did not know about Mimi was involved though, but that is really cool.

I’m so on Aleks’ side w the sunglasses, everyone people watches, it’s not weird. Also it’s definitely partially a current society thing where people are afraid of any contact w other people now. The main issue with that Ninja thing though is like, by taking a stance like that, not playing with women because people will harass them. You're not only not doing anything to prevent behavior like that from continuing, you're also indirectly reinforcing the stereotypes that men and women can't play together without there being a romantic interest, onto your impressionable young audience at that. He's fully within his right to prioritize not receiving harassment over potential rumors, but that doesn't also mean it can't be morally reprehensible. He'd have done best to keep quiet about it, tbh, it's really the statement that is the worst of it, I'm sympathetic to his reasoning, but I think he went about it all the wrong ways.
