Aleks was speaking so much truth with anxiety stuff! Always see a therapist or find coping mechanisms, never resort to medicine first because you have a chance that you can find something that will help you better than any medication could without medication. Long-term medication isn't always the best and there's a chance you'll have to go through several medications before you find the right one. But there are some people that can't help but to be anxious and they need medication. But it's always best to really try things like meditation or breathing, grounding, etc.

I do horrible in crowds and I struggle to socialize, me working at a grocery store I'm forced to socialize and work in a team so it really does help facing it head on. But some people can't help it even if they face it head on and it sends them downhill and so it's best for them to take medications! I agree with you sir!

Long term anxiety medication isn’t a cure-all for anxiety. It is supposed to be there to help while you deal with the causes of anxiety. I have been on SSRIs for the past couple years and without it I would be an anxious wreck and be bedridden all day. Just be careful with them and start slow with common and older ones and slowly increase dosages as needed. For example dont start effexor at 150mgs, start at 37.5, go up to 75, then maybe 150mg.

If anyone sees this, it's me trying to end the stigma around drugs for anxiety. There are many that are non dependent that are extremely helpful. I've been taking them for a couple years, with some breaks in between and it's a whole world change. There's a biological imbalance in your body that medicine will likely fix.

@David R I definitely hope so. Comparing them now to when everything started is like 2 different entities. I know the ad-pocalypse happened, but I'd rather them have a lil meeting, taking some time off, discussing new crazy creative ideas than seeing it as a task to constantly keep making videos like wrong side and Amazon prime time like it's a chore. It hurts their enthusiasm. I don't know if the ad-pocalypse curbed their ability to create the edgy stuff they used to, I understand if they want to make videos they *can* earn hard earned money on, but creativity wise it's hurting them. I'm going to have to disagree with Aleks on this one. I'm not sure what class of anti-anxiety medications he's familiar with, but there's not some universal dependence that you develop from them. People with chronic anxiety have anxiety regardless of their environment or current situation. Everything in their lives can be going perfectly and they will still experience anxiety, for seemingly no reason. Brain chemistry is responsible for this, and most medications are designed to fix chemical imbalances and do this quite well. The hard part is figuring out whether someone really has a chemical imbalance or if their symptoms are environmentally caused. This is often wrong medications or doses will be prescribed and some people get the impression that medications don't work. ~tldr: It's okay to take medication, and that doesn't make you dependent. Do what increases your quality of life in the long term, especially since most of these anti-anxiety meds are quite safe.

James has said that so far, everyday KZbin has been copystriking his channel's videos over ridicolous claims (even vids from years back). I hate that all these comments are just like "you look like you don't want to be here" "why are you so done?" Well no... They aren't done. KZbin has created this unhealthy perception that ALL youtubers must look enthusastic and happy 100% of the time. Heck, even Pewds have made statements about this issue. Realistically everyone (at least the fans) should be letting these guys just chill for a bit and find that spark again.

J. Spike in my experience they only prescribe it by itself and not with any other medication...i was 16 when my doc suggested it because he didn’t want me on medication yet. Nowadays i don’t need any more of the ones they did put me on, but yes it’s important to keep in mind the interactions that can come from taking SJW & SSRI’s commonly prescribed!
