TannerFishies Hey this doesn’t relate to what you discussed in the video, but I think this piece of info might catch your attention. The Ghost Scar Cole got in DOTD hasn’t actually gone away. I know you don’t like to watch the episodes until they come out in HD, but in episode 2 of SOG there’s a scene where the Ninja are training and Cole uses his RX powers on Lloyd. A thing to note is that his arms when he uses his Ghost Powers are now yellow instead of orange, and so is his scar instead of the Green from before. So while it’s still there, it’s not noticeable at all since it matches with the classic Minifig skin tone. But when it glows up you’ll notice that it covers a small bit of his eyebrow. I just thought that this piece of info would interest you and maybe you could possibly make a video as to why his arms turn Yellow now instead of Orange. If you read this, thank you for doing so and keep up the hard work with your videos

Sorry Tanner, but I have to disagree with everything you mentioned in this video. If the difference between seasons 7 and 8 are 1 year, than that means between other seasons it couldn't have been a year. We all see the big changes that happened to the ninja for season 8, and all that happened in one year, whereas in other seasons, the ninja look exactly the same, meaning that the time between seasons is no more than six months. I am not going to predict their ages, but I will predict the time periods. Between the pilots and season 1, I would say about 3 weeks. The ninja are still wearing the original suits, so not much time has passed. Between seasons 1 and 2, no time has passed at all, maybe just one week. I doubt the ninja would leave the streets of NINJAGO looking like a complete dump after the Great Devourer. The largest time skip is between seasons 2 and 3, not counting season 8. I'd say about 4-6 months have passed, since the ninja look exactly the same. Between seasons 3 and 4, I'd say about 2 weeks to 4. Between seasons 4 and 5, I think maybe 2-3 weeks max. I don't think Morro would just float around in NINJAGO doing nothing for a while. Between seasons 5 and 6, I'd say about a month, maybe two. I don't think Dareth can whip up all the things he has done for the ninja in 3 weeks. Between season 6 and DOTD, I'd say about a month or two. Between DOTD and season 7, its right away, just like with seasons 1 and 2. I doubt the ninja would leave the museum all broken up like that for more than a week. The reason why they had quick suit changes? I think the DOTD suits were just used for the holiday, and they had the fusion suits before. We all know the time between seasons 7 and 8, which is a year as stated by Cole. Anyways, this is my opinion. I don't think more than a year would have passed between all of the seasons combined, because they would've gotten significant changes than, just like they did for season 8. What do you think?

1. This is very accurate tanner but I would say Nya is older than Lloyd by 6-8 months and Kai is older than Jay by 3-5 months. 2. Saying this randomly, I wish the elemental masters will be back for future seasons... Tesojes Alt Cole was the leader because he was the oldest, not the most powerful, right? All four ninja were basically equal, so they choose leaders by age. Once Lloyd came around, he became their leader because he was the chosen one and arguably the most powerful, so it makes sense that Cole is the oldest and Lloyd is the youngest.

Brent Miller made a video where he Interviewed Kirby Morro and they mentioned that they were 14 at the start so they would most likely be younger

I watched an interview with Kirby Morrow (voice actor of Cole) He claimed that he always thought Cole was 14 on the Pilot episode, I quote (or damn close to what he said) "When I voiced Cole, I did not voice a 16-20 year old, I voiced a fourteen year old, I'm pretty sure if a 16-20 year old talked like this, he'd be bullied or beat the crap out of" But that's not confirmed, when Brent Miller (voice actor of Zane) asked the writers, they said the ninja were "ageless" but in their early teens so around 14-16 maybe even seventeen. And according to cartoon logic, throughout the 5+ years Ninjagos been around, they've probably aged like close to a year. Another thing that supports this theory is that say, sure, Kirby claims that he voiced a fourteen year old, but what if Cole was more mature for his age (ha, mature) and a little more responsible since in season 8 he claims that since someone (she) passed away, his father always left him the responsible one around the house, so he learned responsibility a lot quicker. So what if Kai is a year older or so? Like 15, and Jay is around there, like 14-15, because Nya is roughly 2 years younger, wouldn't that make sense in the love department? Nya would be one year younger (or two). Zane's makes sense, but Lloyd is where is gets confusing. He looked 8-10 in season 1, and we aren't sure how much he aged, so was if he was a little younger than ten and aged to 13? They did say he was younger, and the actors and writers said that they changed the voice actor to show the viewers that Lloyd has grown. So as of season 8 I'd like to thing the Ninja aged a year (Cole says Wu has been gone for a year now in this season) so around now I think Lloyd is 14, Nya is 14-15, Jay and Kai are 16-17 and Cole is 15.

Yes. I watched the same interview. I am a fan of Kirby Morrow, I love his voice acting and I have watched several other interviews with him and every time he mentions Cole he says he was 14. In another interview I watched with Brent Miller and Tommy Andreasen he mentions the argument he had with Kirby Morrow and Tommy says Kirby was probably right about the age to begin with and Brent says don't tell him that. So I don't know, but I like your theory.

Ever since the beginning of Ninjago, I always thought the ninja were in their twenties. I thought that Kai was 25. In season 7, when Kai first met Nya, he looked about 4 years old. Making a 4 year difference between them, Nya 21. I thought that Jay was younger then Kai, older then Nya. I thought that Jay was 24. Cole being the oldest at 28. Both Zane and Lloyd being a special case. Zane was built to look, act and behave like a 29 year old, but he is really 40 due to what Doctor Julian looks in the episode “Tick Tock”. Lloyd in episode “Child’s Play” was aged up to look like a 20 year old but in reality he was about 8-10 years old. Both Zane and Lloyd had to act what they look like. The reason why thought that the ninja were these ages was because of personal preference. Having an older sister who was once a teenager, she never seemed to be able to do what the ninja are able to do. I am now 14, everyone I know including me never seems to be able to do the things the ninja can. Let’s go back to my sister. She is now 21 and her boyfriend 22. They seem as if they would be able to do what the ninja do, protect the citizens of Ninjago. It makes more sense that the ninja are in their 20s to me. I know that I am incorrect, the writers of Ninjago have said numerous times that the ninja are teenagers, not twenty year old. This was just my personal opinion. DO NOT SAY THAT I AM INCORRECT! Lloyd would be 14. Which would explain his "puberty" in season 8 with his voice change and all. The age fits, and Lloyd didn't AGE in Season 2, he GREW.

After I did my calculations I came to, by season 10 the ninjas ages are: Kai: 21 Jay: 21 Nya: 19 Cole: 22 Lloyd: 18 year olds body (16) Zane: 46 (22) Also, when Lloyd was about 13 (Mentally) Harumi was about 12 so It would make sense of him dating a 15 year old while he was 16. (MENTALLY)

Good job Tannerfishies, once again a great video! I just wanted to point something out. You said Lloyd is 20 at the beginning of season 8. I think he's younger than that. This is because in episode 1 of season 8, Lloyd and the ninja are together for the first time in what was apparently a long time ("it's been a while since we've all been under one roof" one of the ninja says, I forgot which one though). The ninja then tease Lloyd about his deeper voice, before Nya tells them to leave him alone. This means that Lloyds voice recently got deeper, so from this I would say that Lloyd is actually around 15 at the beginning of season 8. Yes, I know this is quite young, but it makes logical sense. I understand why you didn't know this though, because you haven't seen season 8 (it's a great season so far, by the way, I hope you get to watch it soon!). I know this is quite long so if you've read all the way to here, thanks!

Well, the first two seasons took one year, from what I know, and we know that between season 7 & 8, one year has passed. So those are already two years. But then we also need a few years for season 3 to 7 (season 6 didn't take any time because of time reverse), how about... four years? Maybe? So I think they grew through the show for about six years. Maybe five. As for Lloyd, he was around 9 when he was small. So now he should be around 14 or 15, but his body is in the same age as the ninja, which is probably something around 18, 19 or 20, which would mean that they were about 14 or 15 at the beginning. That's at least how I see it.

Sounds good Tannerfishies except there is one problem, in the fist episode of SOG(I know it airs tommorrow in the US, and that you want to see it when it airs) it was confirmed that Lloyd's voice had gotten lower, now I'm not saying it isn't possible for someone to be a very late bloomer for puberty but I would say that LLoyd in season 8 is at maximum 16 and minimum of 14 I would go with 16 for lloyd nya=17 Jay and Kai=Late 19/ almost 20 Cole= early 20

Tbh I think u made them a little to old. I like the video but I recall that Brent Miller interviewed the Hangman Brothers and they said that they want the ninja to be age less but if they could place their ages they would be in their late teens , my placement of their age would be 18 or 19 based on what they said . But I love your analysis because your time line does add up and makes sense :) thanks for the awesome video

A few things in Season 8 effect this - one, Harumi is shown to be a young child in the flashback, taking place during the episode "Day of the Great Devourer". This means that Lloyd had to have been at an age young enough to be a kid and age into an older character naturally, since as far as we know Harumi is around his same age and didn't get aged up with a magic potion. He would also need to be at an age where he could be aged up a little into a teenager but still be a peer with someone on a normal aging scale later on (we can assume Harumi is a little older than Lloyd in the flashback; she is younger than the rest of the ninja).Secondly, we see Wu as an old man before Dr. Julian dies. This means Zane was not built during the time of the Serpentine war, but rather recently enough for Wu to meet him while still being an old man. I would therefore say he is probably around the same age as the Ninja in terms of both chronology and physical appearance.

Personally, I don’t think that the ninja are that old. I think at the time of the pilot, the main 4 ninja were 15/16 years old since they’re pretty young but can drive, and I read somewhere that Nya is 2 years younger than Kai so that makes her 13/14 I guess. Now they’re probably like in they’re early 20s. Anyone else agree?

Terilyn Lo I agree to a certain extent. The four original ninja are the same age. Mid teens, early teens when the series began and in S9 they're still teenagers, because in episode 89 Kai confirms that they're all still teenagers, and Jay says, yeah but we're grown up teenagers. The creators also said in an interview with Brent Miller they're ageless, but wouldn't put them any older than teenagers.

They said Kai is the oldest and Nya is two years younger than Kai. However, Cole, Jay and Zane are older than Nya. So, these are thier ideal ages. Kai is 19, Cole, who they confirmed to be the 2nd oldest is 18, Nya and Jay would be around the same age so They would be 17; with Jay being older by a few months. Lloyd however is younger and about 15. Zane however, varies as he lived and died so you can just play with that one.

I have a theory. When Lloyd aged by the tea, he stopped physically aging until his mental age caught up, so while the other ninja aged onward, Lloyd stayed the same age (I’m thinking mid to late teens) until he was mentally at the same age as his body. I think that between season 7 and season 8, his mind finally caught up, and he started physically aging again, explaining the appearance change in season 8. If he had aged like a normal person, he would have still looked the same by the time he was that old. Also, in season 8, Lloyd is now actually younger than the other ninja.

I remember when Ninjago was first introduced to me in a lego magazine back in 2011 and there is a page where it talks about how sensei wu recruited 4 young men to become ninja and fight Lord Garmadon. I think after Wu was lost in the time stream, the ninja probably became younger. The ninja were in high school in the Ninjago Movie. They lost their memories in a way after the time stream, but kept their bodies, therefore, they would be in their teenage years.
