I love how Zane's treadmill line seems like a ha ha goofy robot moment until you realize it breaks the continuity of the show. In real life that is indeed the exact year the treadmill was invented, which means Ninjago is parallel to real life, which it clearly isn't. But If we go deeper and say Ninjago follows the real-world timeline in years and events, putting its own "spin" on it which could be used to give each important Ninjago event a year. Let's say Ninjago actually began in 2011 within the world, that means by 2012 the Overlord is defeated, and by winter 2014 he is defeated once more, a year passes the ninja go to The ToT, and after it a week passes and they fight Morro, it does not really matter when they fight Nadakhan because we know DotD is around Halloween which is in October 2015 and by the start of 2016 Hands of Time ends, one year later at New years is where SoG starts judging from the celebrations, but taking into consideration ninjago takes only real-world dates but not cultures we are to assume that they do not depict the lunar new year, even though the celebration is reminiscent of it, instead they use the regular new year, but even if they do celebrate the lunar new year the difference is 1 month only. Anyway in 3 months, the whole Oni trilogy is over, assuming that could be in March as a nod to the title of the season and the month it was released (could be April because of the new year they use), leaving season 11 to begin in september or October 2017, by the time we reach Seabound we are early into 2018 and skip to early 2019 for crystalized. Considering at least 5 years passed between Crystalized and Dragons Rising, we find ourselves in the year of our lord 2024, the exact year we are currently in. Who knew this throwaway line was the key to the real Ninjago timeline?
