The Pilots are also incredible for beginning AND setting up the entirety of Ninjago. The animation is quite obviously outdated compared to the other seasons, but overall it is still very likeable. DOTD is easily my least favorite special as it is very, VERY rushed but at least we did get some good stuff off of it like Morro continuing his redeem arc, more of master yang etc. The Island grew on me and eventually became my favorite 44-minute Ninjago special. I loved the vibes it gave off, along with it finally getting the story into focusing on Wojira Moral of the story, all of the 44-minute ninjago specials are great in their own unique ways.

Day of the departed was kinda rushed because the movie was set to come out in 2016, but got pushed back a year, so Ninjago had to put out at least SOMETHING, so they put out DotD and HoT on extremely low notice

DOTD would've been sick if it was a one and a half hour movie it pretty much would help DOTD doing literally anything within it better, considering it was rushed and 44 minutes really weren't enough for its runtime

The reason it was this ways and same with hands of time, was because the Ninjago movie was set to come out in 2016, but was pushed back a year, and so Ninjago had to put out DotD and HoT on no notice, which is way hands of time is so mid, but dotd is still a banger

Yang wants to cut the rift between the mortal and departed realms so he can return to life (Or die peacefully, it’s unclear) and be free of the temples curse. He essentially wants to swap places with Cole and become a free roaming ghost. Hope this helps @TomCritic ! Am I that “absolute weapon”?

your weapon: since the lunar eclipse can put peoples souls into statues, it makes sense that if you go through it, you will get your soul too also this one is just a theory, but im pretty sure his lava arms are his full potential, cause we saw it was possible to lose your full potential in season 11 and with lloyd, so i think that the fact that cole kept thinking he was nothing was holding him back again to unlocking his full potential. and in his full potential design, he has similar arms like the lava arms

I do not know where i got this. But for the longest time i thought that there was a scene where cole put on some gloves that formed his lava arms. But when i watched dotd again this just did not exsit. Idk if i allusioned it or what.

Pilot - A solid entry despite the old animation DOTD - An average special that doesn't feel necessary, but it explains why Cole isn't a ghost in future seasons and I wish Morro had more screen time The Island - I consider this part 1 of seabound, but on its own, it's very forgettable. It just happens, too fast that I didn't care what was happening, but at least it gave us a tease for what's to come

Best special is the pilots fr fr. The island is unremarkable and just reinforces that ronin learned nothing from his season 5 arc. DotD isn’t that bad in retrospect but tries to cram so many ideas in 44 mins and kinda rushed it. Also the villains returning wasn’t good either as the fights were dumb and goofy. Pilots didn’t do anything bad but nothing too remarkable. It’s B tier for me.
