I spend hours every day practicing *shadowing* and my favourite podcast for doing this is 'Japanese With Shun'; Shun speaks slow enough for a beginner like me, but I sometimes play the videos at a slower speed. Comprehensible Japanese is another good channel for short videos, and slowly spoken Japanese. I love Ninjapanese too, of course. You're great. 🙏🙏🙏

Whats shadowing
@kyleclark89588 ай бұрын
You listen to what is being said and then try to say the thing they are saying as they say it. Shadowing is very difficult to do in my opinion but very worth it! It helps with pronunciation, and pacing of your speech to sound more comfortable with the language. Its also good because you are repeating the same thing over and over and over so you learn some useful phrases and put them to memory faster@@crazygamingbvr9260
@johnathanh94788 ай бұрын
I love Japanese with Shun. Same here, I use it for shadowing too
@benhoad76137 ай бұрын
@@crazygamingbvr9260 shadowing is basically listening to someone speak and copying it as close as you can, its supposed to be good for you brain for acquisition of language as well as obviously helping your pronunciation

This guide is extremely helpful for people who wants to learn Japanese. ありがとう先生! I've been doing almost all of the steps mentioned except for writing (I will definitely work on it). I started speaking Japanese last year because I made a Japanese friend and wanted to be able to communicate with them. Prior to that I already had a lot of input (phrases, vocabulary, expressions) so I can understand simple Japanese but the problem was I couldn't put my thoughts well into words. That made me struggle keeping the flow of conversation. The more you speak the more you will improve and I have to give the credit to my Japanese friends cause they helped me improve a lot and even motivated me to learn how to read and type in japanese. Also, talking to myrself in Japanese helped me practice and get used to saying words so when I speak in a conversation it comes out more naturally. Even the internal voice in my head is in Japanese. Do your best everyone! 僕ももっと上手く話せる様に努力します! 日本語の勉強頑張りましょうー!

Finally someone who really breaks it down step by step. Learning hiragana and katakana first will help you in a long way followed by the vocabulary, then the basic grammar sentence structure. Thanks for breaking the video down into different categories! I am interested in the lessons!

You are an absolute hero! I've been learning aimlessly for the past 3 weeks. I've listened to childrens songs; I've aimlessly watched N5 videos, as well as shorts and just tried to collate and absorb information from different sources. Sadly, it's not working so well. Hopefully, if I have some sort of structure, it'll stick. Also, the comments below are super helpful! Thank you all!

Great topic! I live in Tokyo right now. I would go parallel. Phrase One: Hiragana + Simple & Easy phrases + Self-introduction, real like Japanese Shopping and 7 eleven. 7-Eleven is a great place to start a conversation. You have to do all this at the same time because each part help each other. Phrase Two: Boost vocabulary, verbs, adjectives, and grammar. I think this is the hardest part.
