Do you have any videos talking extensively about Trailing stops? I'm a bit of a newb with Strategy builder still. I am curious if there is a way to have the Trail start after the trade is in profit by 'X' ticks? I don't know how to code (yet) so I'd like to use the strategy builder tool. I feel like it has something to do with the ' From entry signal' field. Can you help me with this please?

Watch on in the series... Trailing stops are a bad idea in general as you are making public on the exchange where your stop is. As a general rule you want to keep it out of harms way to avoid early stop outs. The kind of stop I suspect you actually want is not doable in Strategy Builder but what YOU CAN do is create hidden profit & loss conditional statements that fire when certain conditions are met. Check out Video 3...

Can you answer this question: I want to plot the low and high price of specific time zones and keep them listed on the chart. Example, draw a line at the highest and lowest price from 930 till 230 and/or draw the highest 5m and lowest 5m close. Every day those highs and lows should be plotted as horizontal lines and not deleted session to session. Is there a simple way to do this without requiring orders to be placed?

This is very informative. Thanks for the contents and hope to see more. So the reason that you put bool = false Input Parameter for "LongEMA7CrossEMA20" equals true is to isolate "Long EMA 7 Crossover SMA14" condition to see which long set up comes out with a better performance?
@j2algoTrader9 ай бұрын
Correct. The primary purpose of the use of bools in strategies is to isolate conditional statements quick & easy...

@@j2algoTrader Hi, j2algo, I have one more question. Is there any reason that we put Long_EMA7CrossSMA14 bool to "fault" in Input parameters and then set that as "True" in Conditions? I tried to put Long_EMA7CrossSMA14 bool as "True" in input parameters and then set that as "True" in conditions and it seems like the results are the same. Thanks in advance.
@j2algoTrader9 ай бұрын
@@GRINDING_LIFE Input parameters are where you set the default state of an object. So, your true false default condition. When using those objects in a conditional set, they are simply being evaluated. Hence if your condition requires "X" true/false bool to be true, and you have set the 'default state' of that bool to be "true" in your input parameters, then they agree and therefore that conditional parameter has been met.
@GRINDING_LIFE9 ай бұрын
@@j2algoTrader Got it, then if I set the 'default state" of that bool to be "false" in my input parameters, and then put "true" in condition, then does it mean false? I am just trying to understand the reason behind you put "false" as a default set up in input parameter for "Long/Short Crossovers", whereas you put "true" as a default set up for "Use_Longs/Shorts" Sorry for too many questions.

Your videos are excellent, I am developing some bots thanks to you. But, I would like to ask you one question, I see differences between the Strategy Analyzer and the real performance. I know about the fill order etc... but, in some cases I have seen that the entry order between the strategy analyzer and on live performance is different, do you know why this is happening to my bot?

Well thank you :)... I would need more info to give you a competent answer. Several factors come into play, i.e. type of chart, instrument, chart speed, etc... Send me an email & gimme some details & we'll go from there... info@j2algtrader.com
