Really enjoying these color cube models. It would really be cool to do shorts with just these random pulls. Another neat concept would be to pick an army you want to paint, pick three models from the same unit, paint one with a color card of your choice and the other two with random pulls from each box. Then have the community vote on the best looking one and commit to painting the army in that scheme in a follow up video.

After your last video on this I purchased one and wrote their customer service to tell them about the video. They are almost all gamers there! They love the video too! When you buy the cube it comes with color matching downloads for paint brands like Prisma Color, etc. I suggested they add some for Citadel, Army Painter, etc. They are going to look into it. It's a great tool and the downloads are a real bonus - thanks for introducing it to everyone in this community! Great video - as always

@cleverlizzerd44734 ай бұрын
@@terrencemiltner1005 Maybe, maybe not. GW has been doing limited runs of board games forever. However, from casual observation, they generally fall in two "tracks". The "fan-boy" track with new sculpts and sold exclusively by Games Workshop, like: Dreadfleet, Space Hulk 3rd Ed., Warhammer Quest. These were always premium ≥ $120 games. Then there's the "on-boarding" track, typically with older and/or repurposed sculpts, sold at big box retailers, like: Lost Patrol 2nd Ed., Space Marine Adventures. These have generally been ≤ $60. What we've got in Dark Tide is possibly the worst of both tracks. The repurposed sculpts of the "on-boarding" track but closer in price to the "fan-boy" track. The value bump perhaps coming from 1.5 to 2 of the minis being heroes which cost $35 standalone. Value being relative, if you're that hobbyist inclined to collect Imperial Smorgasbord. Oh, and you get a probably OK board game to go with all them minis. It's also only being sold by GW. So the newly initiated 40k fan enticed by the $40 Darktide video game can't just stumble upon the game at Barnes & Noble and acquire it on an impulse buy. Nay, they must to seek out GW on their own turf to drop that hundo and change in tribute. Thinking about it, the consumer the Darktide board game would appeal to "most" is at the centermost circle of [Cmdr.] Dante's Venn Diagram. Persons that are prexisting GW fans and/or really into the Darktide video game, already inclined to shop at a Warhammer store or online, who also like board games and/or want the specific minis in this box, and/or want to get their friends into 40k, but can't convince them to buy $200+ of hobby junk outright, so they've got to pull a bait-and-switch on Blood Rage night. The other outlier in this, uh -- space, is the Space Marine video game tie-in board game. Which features the new and currently exclusive Lt. Titus mini, and the repurposed, but still new-ish, Leviathan Termagants. That's available at retail for $40.

Every time I see someone pull out the color cubes for minis, I get excited. Partly because the creator of them (Sarah Renae Clark) is here on KZbin and does 2D art, often in coloring books. Partly because I know I'm in for a great adventure in color. But, mostly because I'm always interested to see how folks are using the colors they get.
