That 8-cyl. Porsche was the same car that ran at Sebring that year. Ran long races with 220-HP engine. Didn't look anything like the 909 Bergspyder which came later.

Living there and knowing the roads like the back of your hand is a huge advantage. You'd know every nuance and little mid corner bump on the entire circuit. Add to the mix a good driver in a fast car and you're just about assured a victory, if you have good luck. LOL

+505197 Brian Redman says it took 60 laps to learn the 21 km Nurburgring so how many laps would one need to learn a 74 km circuit? So, yes, a competent local driver must have had an enormous advantage at the Targo. Great to see an actual interview with NIno.
