Those can easily cost a hundred bucks, so it's not unreasonable that she can't afford one. Why she would need one is a different question... neither of the children are old enough to make use of something like that.

Low key, I really hate the change in relationship between Pam and Penny. Despite one brief moment where Pam was upset at the trailer being cleaned, she always read as supportive of Penny and any potential relationship with the farmer. It feels like the modder felt like the best way to spice up Penny’s story was just to add more trauma at the cost of the core story, don’t think this part is well done tbh.

I'm glad this episode didn't end with a divorce segment. This mod was really good. Makes Penny a more believable character. The trauma dumping was overwhelming at times but whoever made the mod really invested in a lot of details. Stardew Valley is one of those games that really improves with the modding scene.

In Penny’s defense, the question about kids comes in her 8 heart event if I’m remembering correctly. At this point she’s interested in you, so it’s not unreasonable for her to ask what your thoughts on kids are since it’s an important thing to her. Why would she wanna waste her time being with someone that doesn’t want kids like she does? If the question came up in the 2nd or 4th heart event, it would be way more judgmental and unnecessary

in reality its very healthy to talk about kids early on in a relationship (especially a heterosexual one or where one of you could potentially become pregnant) because it ensures you're on the same page as long as both of you are honest with the other. no, the farmer and penny are not dating when she asks you this, but the dating mechanics of the game literally prevent her from leaving you after you do start dating. the extreme loss of hearts if you answer with the opposite of what she wants gets the message across that kids are important to her and it would probably be in both of your best interests to not pursue anything. penny is my least favorite marriage candidate but i understand her values, she's just not my type.

I like how Penny says that her and Pam aren't so different due to them falling into something for their own escapism. But the literal difference is that she's is nowhere near like her mom and her escapism isn't harming her mentally, physically, and fiscally as oppose to Pams alcoholism. Penny can buy books on sale and buy books that are used for a fraction of the price, build her small personal library, and stop once she's filled up her bookcase. But Pam on the other hand will continue drinking no matter is she's satisfied or not, and it's also revealed that she likes to drink hard liquor and wine along with beer. So comparatively speaking *Pam* is the one who is primarily causing a large hole in their wallets.
