Honestly as much as I wanted a GX remaster, I think F-Zero 99 is a good way to reintroduce the series to people since it has been a dormant franchise for so long.

If you noticed they added back Sprites for the partners. in the same cutscenes in the original they didn't have back Sprites only Mario did. They're also bringing the art style that is a Kenmore to Yoshi's Island then normal Mario foremost every character. OG PAPER MARIO DRYBONES!!!!!

Also noticeable is Tec's eye is red, which is what it was in the Japanese version. Plus the logo is closer to Japan's as well. Which has been very interesting.

Very hyped for the final Mario Kart DLC! My own assumption for how they'll condense the roster (assuming they DON'T announce 4 MORE characters) is that they'll take the two Inklings and two Villagers (who are currently their own slots) and condense them into being a single Inkling slot and a single Villager slot. That seems like the most logical way to keep the 8x6 character grid without sticking DLC characters into sub-menus.

I know this will never happen, at least not now, but if the mario rpg remake succeeds, we might see more of Geno and Mallow's face in other games. Or they could disappear for another 27 years and leave people disappointed yet again.

Another Code (Trace Memories) was part of the initial lineup for the Nintendo DS. It's probably the game I'm looking forward to the most. The others look cool but Another Code is what I'm most excited for.

I believe the Tomb Raider remaster Trilogy is a brand new reveal for the direct. The one you may be referring to is the Tomb Raider Anniversary game released during the PS2 era. I am excited for that trilogy!

here's a quick rule of thumb for anyone that's cautious about the league games: it's just league itself (and the community) that suck. everything else, including the other games based on the universe, range from "pretty decent" to "best in the industry"

I am so happy that funky Kong is added into Mario Kart 8 deluxe as a DLC racer because he's the coolest Donkey Kong character in the world and there's been quite a few Mario games and Donkey Kong games that I always play as funky Kong like Mario Kart Wii, Donkey Kong tropical freeze and now I can finally play as funky Kong again on Mario Kart 8 deluxe also I'm really happy that Nintendo has remade Mario vs Donkey Kong for the Nintendo switch because I used to play Mario vs Donkey Kong all the time on the GBA since it was first released in 2004 and I always prefer playing the first Mario vs donkey kong game more than the other Mario vs Donkey Kong games. ❤😁❤

Splatoon 3: Side Order just reminds me that I need to get back into Splatoon 3; for whatever reason I fell off it and haven't gotten back to it since. Remaking the first Mario vs. Donkey Kong is the best choice they could have made, IMO. The series really went downhill once the Mini-Marios took over. The first one is like a pseudo-sequel to Donkey Kong '94 for the Game Boy, which is criminally underrated. There's no Lemmings-style gameplay, just puzzle platforming with Mario's shockingly robust moveset. Really hope that, if they continue this series, it takes after this game more. Funny Tom should mention Captain Toad, though, the developers behind the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series, Nintendo Software Technology, handled the Switch port of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, so I suppose it makes sense some comparisons there. 8:15 - Well then... ;) Another Code (known as Trace Memory in North America for whatever reason) getting remade makes me happy in the same way the Famicom Detective Club games getting remade does; I love it whenever Nintendo revives their older, more obscure properties like this. I'll definitely be getting this remake, not only because I'm curious about it and its story, but also to encourage Nintendo to keep doing this kind of thing. Princess Peach: Showtime! looks so gosh-darn charming! As a total Mario nerd, I love seeing new things out of the Mario series, so I'm really looking forward to exploring what this new outing with Peach has to offer. It definitely doesn't feel like Super Princess Peach, that's for sure. Definitely a day-1 purchase for me! You know the developers of Trombone Champ are crazy when they not only remembered that the Joy-Cons have an IR sensor, but decide to use it in what might be the least effective way to play the game. XD Unicorn Overlord intrigues me, surprisingly enough. At the very least, I love the art direction and animation shown off. I might pick it up (wish I knew more about Vanillaware's previous games). Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon was actually called Luigi's Mansion 2... basically everywhere else except North America. I guess this rename is for consistency. Of the three Luigi's Mansion games, Dark Moon is actually my least favorite, but it's still a decent game, and the upgrade to HD looks nice. Hopefully they'll make the ice boss not a pain-in-the-ass this time. People had a pretty negative reaction to F-Zero 99, and even now there are still people sour about it. Frankly, I think this is the best thing that could have happened to F-Zero, and not just because this is the first new F-Zero game in almost 19 years. The 99 battle royale format is perfectly complementary toward F-Zero's inherently aggressive high-speed racing gameplay, and releasing it for free for Nintendo Switch Online members makes perfect since, seeing as you're going to need a membership to play the game online anyway. On top of that, this gives new players a gateway to dip their toes into the series without committing to purchasing a game, and I've legit seen people who have never played or weren't that big F-Zero fans loving this game, which is always a good thing in my opinion. More fans means more people wanting more F-Zero, which will hopefully lead to something akin to a remake/remaster of F-Zero GX, or another F-Zero game in the same vein of that GX. I think Nintendo might be testing the waters to see how big the demand for F-Zero is, and hopefully it's big enough for the series to not go dormant again for years! It's going to take a while to get used to that new Wario voice... :( FINALLY, Diddy Kong is in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe! Seriously, what took them so long to add him? (he should have been there from the start) Pauline is a great addition, and it's cool to see Funky Kong there, too! Peachette is meh, but honestly, I wasn't expecting more than two new character additions, so it's whatever. The Direct ending with Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door getting remade was such a surreal experience. Obviously I was excited to tears, but just the placement of this reveal as the final thing Nintendo showed off feels like they finally recognize just how much Paper Mario means to people. It's a far-cry from Paper Mario: Color Splash getting a casual announcement in the middle of a Nintendo Direct, or Origami King getting stealth announced on Twitter (to be fair, that was in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, so do what you can I suppose). My two biggest hopes from this announcement is that new players get to play it and finally see what people like me, Arlo, and Chuggaaconroy are going on about with this game, and also that Nintendo learns their lesson and make more games similar to TTYD after this.

Great Direct in my opinion, we've seen more of several upcoming games (Princess Peach Showtime looks good indeed) and even though most big games announced - F-Zero 99 being the most notable exception - are remasters/remakes they're all games so many people wanted on Switch, especially Paper Mario TTYD as the original costs way too much!

If they Double up on the Villager slot, and the Inkling Slot, like only have one, they can put Funky and Peachette there, then the other slots can be for Diddy and Pauline, that's what I'd do, cuz it always bothered me why Villager and Inkling took two slots each.

SaGa is super fun! If its anything like the ones ive played, you level up your stats based on what you do in battle... ie if you use punching attacks your attack stat may increase at the end of the battle and you could learn a new, even stronger, punching attack during battle too! its a really fun spin on the age old trope of leveling up, and it happens at the end of each battle... no xp grinding here
