It's just that after the pandemic started the Nintendo president was still saying in investor meetings that the pandemic was causing no delays (at that point). At least not for the year. And I can imagine thiw just beimg their year. Underwhelming imo, but Nintenei has years like that sometimes. Oh, and there was info that they wanted to try this new format without Directs. Might have been their intentiom anyway.
