Silk song likely will be in production for quite some time, they only stopped working on hollow knight and released it because they literally ran out of money and had no other choice, so now that they have such a huge pool of money nothing is holding them back from just adding and adding and adding content

Yes, they announced the game quite a while ago, but games take time, especially whenever it's being made by a small team.
