Watching makes me miss my DS that looked just like this one. The top screen came off the hinges when I was like 9 or 10. Then my dad decided to “fix” it by making a little hole to connect it back to the right spot. Helped it last like a year or 2, but the metal got to hard and broke off the piece of the DS it was connected to. And then, it wouldn’t turn on. I wish I could send it to get it fixed somehow but I think it might be beyond repair considering the top screen is halfway broken off.

I did this and now it won't turn on anymore 😅 I can't tell if it was my fault or if it was just so old it couldn't take being taken apart. I've had it for about 9-10 years now

Ok so, i have a dsi however years ago when i was playing with it i remember leaving it on the charge and coming back a few days later (it still being on the charge) & idk what caused it but since then i would go back to play on it using the touch screen it would go the opposite direction like the screen detection was messed up or something. I stopped playing with it for YEARS. So just today i was curious & i looked up why my screen is doing this, so i check Nintendos “suggestions” on what to do & they said it could have something to do with an unlicensed screen protector… so me being me (& since it has been well over 10 years) i decided to peel back the screen protector- & im watching this video realizing that I’ve made a huge mistake… I did not peel back the screen protector I peeled back THE ACTUAL SCREEN!!!…& im touching the screen & it will NOT work anymore 😭😭😭💔💔💔💔

Hey I know you did this a while ago but I have a quick question! See my old dsi xl has both the top and the bottom screen all scratched up, is it even possible to replace the top screen?? If so I’ll be buying a replacement for the top aswell

I have a small amount of white light bleeding in the bottom left corner and a tiny amount in the middle of the top edge. What do you suggest I do to fix it?

@@sovietanna989 from what i know, its possible to replace the top screen but its really cumbersome. you need to be very precise and careful

Ah the usual Nintendo nonsense when it should be a modular slot in unit from the top..obviously a touchscreen will get marked with stylus etc and its just plastic really..The reason some ds have to be kept mint and others given some heavy use with the stylus games. I've done sps and advances but no more thanks

Should all the lcd screen and touchscreen pop off when you disassembled it? Cuz i did it and the touchscreen and the frame still stick into the bottom chassis, i need to buy either the lcd screen and the touchscreen to fix it i think..ill update it when it s done

Thanks now I can do it without breaking it because I forgot a thing or 2 and then break I have an issue for year not fix it just a problem with my toutch screen it have a bad spot and it annoying because the only game I wanted to play are some Zelda mainly my personal favourite I grew up with Zelda phantom hourglass I just find my DSiXL and now I need to fix it it only 8$ on Amazon for the screen it worth it for those Zelda game I’m going to have a blast playing them back now

I'm gonna reshell my DS Lite for the first time, and you have helped me deduce that I need a digitizer replacement and not a whole touch screen. The bottom screen has two scratches on it, and they are an eyesore, even when turned on. I hate that I have to remove both the border and the LCD from it though lol.

Perfect work🫡 old screen was oxidized also. It’s like when you spend an hour machine polishing your cars headlights. Gives it a “brand new” sensation that would’ve cost you a small fortune elsewhere.

I don’t think you can turn off the touchscreen. If defective then touchscreen would need replacement

You can enter the settings by pressing the l and R shoulder buttons holding select (or start?) and then press the power button shortly. You should get to the setting where u can calibrate you touchscreen again. And that normally should fix it.

I have a question I tried to repair the screen & accidentally broke the little white box in the bottom right corner on the motherboard that’s for the power supply😩 is there anyway to fix this? Or do I need to purchase another motherboard? Please help!
