Out of nowhere it was announced that Nintendo would be making an appearance at an upcoming event leaving people to wonder what they'll be doing there. Sony and Bungie have been in the news for their recent struggles and now an email and move for Marathon are bringing up more questions.

people expecting anything good from Nintendo should be ready for disappointment. Last time they released something actually impressive probably was in the wii U era to be honest. Which is sad because that console failed and maybe that's what turned them into such a trash dispenser. The only exception is Zelda but even that's not anything special. Some devs like Rockstar aren't gonna get rid of features just to meet a 60 FPS standard. 30 FPS will always be a thing for as long as consoles exist. If games were made specifically for 4090s then there would be games that run at 30 FPS max on a 4090

Sony fans will argue that: the PS5 Pro retroactivelly has a showcase game in The Last of Us 2 Remastered. Better 4K upscaled @30fps but unimpressive visuals @60fps due to CPU limitations.

About AI--One of the jobs I have worked at over the years is as a benthic macroinvertebrate taxonomy biologist. Basically, I would go out into streams, collect samples of all the little insects that live in streams. I would identify those bugs under a microscope and then write a report based on the presence or absence of certain types of insects...that would tell the client whether or not the water in the stream was polluted or not. A nice, clean stream would have a very diverse set of insects, while a polluted stream would only have those very tough bugs that could survive just about any condition. A few years ago, a group in Pennsylvania or Massachusetts came up with a way to simply collect a water sample. This water sample contains DNA fragments of all of the bugs, fish, etc. that live or have been in the water. They would run PCR on the DNA (which multiplies the amount of DNA) and use a program to identify the genomes of everything that lives in the water. I looked over at a fellow biologist and said, "well, there goes our jobs." No need for a taxonomist to sit under a microscope if the genomes can be sequenced and analyzed in a couple of days with computer software." My point??? This is analogous to what is happening in the gaming industry. AI will be able to build games in a fraction of the time, and at a fraction of the cost, of current game developers working with their own proverbial microscopes. AI is an amazing invention, but in a few years it will take so, so many jobs in a wide range of fields.

Listen I understand the appeal of hating on Konami but even I was like spawnwave is reaching here. I'm starting to have an issue with all this Konami hate. The company is literally giving cats s**t they been asking for.. for years and cats are still finding massive ways to complain. Silent hill 2 remake, snake eater remake, contra game in its original style. Hiring popular horror developers to make new silent hill games, I wouldn't be surprised if they are working on a castlevania game.. we complaining about a title screen? Come on now.

@Machowesker17 nah I disagree.. the distrust with Konami is like 3000s years ago and people have done worst and been forgiven faster than Konami has. I could even argue that many of the things people distrust about Konami was things Konami were already doing. Konami was already making phone games, already had pachinkos with tons of its characters and the giving of properties to western developers was literally a sentiment of a narrative gamers made at that time. We forget that there was a huge push towards western developers cause huge "japanese developers suck at games" a good example is the phil fish statement at the time. All of this when Kojima was there. Konami isn't great but blizzard has done arguably worst and no one is pushing as much hate as Konami. Kojima was push out in 2015.. 10 year ago. Almost every company has at least 2 major franchises on mobile. Almost every company has microtransactions, tons of dlc and countless other egregious transgressions. People rarely hold that much of an issue with them.. companies laying off left and right and those companies still don't get the hate Konami got for laying off one employee. Geoff kieghley stop his WHOLE show to talk about Kojima lay off and hasn't drop a single tweet about the massive layoffs happening.. Konami lost profits and hasn't to my reconciliation layoff anywhere near the amount of people companies making record profits has... Somewhere down the line we started acting like Konami did the greatest sin ever and I think it's time we need to be honest about how this distrust is directed. There not saints far from it but maybe it's a bit overblown.

The dialogue generated by the Ubisoft AI sounds like same kind of dialogue that you would get from any other tutorial NPC at the start a game. Every time I hear someone try to suggest a "healthy balance" where big business uses AI to 'supplement' workers... I know that the person saying it has gotten accustomed to licking boots. It really disappoints me that YOU have come to this John. Companies are only interested in AI as a replacement for employees. They aren't going to benevolently keep everyone on staff after they figure out how to need them less. Stop pretending it's anything else.

I think it has to be super realistic animations and people movements with Unreal 5 games. That’s the only thing I can see as maybe being so amazing people see the big difference. The Matrix demo basically or better. It would be a big change to sell people animations and realistic cities in an engine as a driving factor for a new console but I think it makes way more sense than saying 8k which basically no one has or seems to care about.

There is also the Snake Eater song that has interactive credits during the opening.... but just like you said... this is only a few moments. Who knows what they bring. Doing all this work to be lackluster on some of the best features seems like a huge failure. But I am still optimistic!

I can't deal with the constant reprojection that gets used in the bigger title on psvr 2. That plus the mura effect. I generally don't play it anymore, I always pick my quest 3 up instead. The lenses are so much clearer. It's night and day

I just bought the horizon bundle psvr2 and the experience was really nice… when it worked. The sense (R) controller does not function in game. Seems like this would have been fixed by now but I saw that this was an issue at launch and still is. I have to unpair and turn the controller on in Game after launching it every single time I turn psvr2 on. Going back to target to get an exchange.
