I’ve said multiple times he didn’t, I didn’t even say that he claimed he leaked it, just that others are saying he did. All I said is that he backpedaled after it was revealed as to not ruin his “reputation”.

It's going to be Jan 16 reveal, and I do believe the quick turnaround time. Nintendo is known to have been producing Switch 2's for a number of months already.

I guess it’s possible Nintendo tries to use the reveal to also make the DK release more exciting. Not a terrible strategy since it’s probably not expected to sell super well. Edit: Just like I bet a lot of people are playing Switch games right now(like I’m playing Metroid Prime Remastered) waiting for the next console.

Let's be honest the tech inside the alarmo was widely talked about but NOBODY suggested an alarm clock! Though the storm of speculations & leaks is Nintendo's fault. For making us wait so long, and hopefully, it's worth the wait. Meaning that hopefully the tech doesn't become outdated quickly & 3rd party volume doesn't die off after a couple of years.

DKCR HD has literally NOTHING to do with ANYTHING ELSE ON THE PLANET. A remake of a port of a game from the Wii......Also you say there is no history with Nintendo releasing things on a Monday, yet you yourself just stated Nintendo used to do Friday releases then changes it to Thursday....so before that there was no history of releasing on a Thursday...so Nintendo can change the day of release for the Switch 2 generation to mondays if they wanted. Also the March 3rd date i the 8th anniversary of the Switch's release.

If the reveal is happening next week, it’s probably happening either the 14th or 15th (Tuesday or Wednesday). Software releases have been moved to Thursdays, but major hardware releases, at least in Japan, are still Friday. So the likely days of release would probably be 3/14, 3/21, 3/28, 4/4, or 4/11. So two months to almost basically three months. Two months would be quick, but for an iterative device, it’s more than doable. It’s the floor for time from reveal to launch. But they wouldn’t need more than three for an effective launch, unless Nintendo botches the communication and advertising.

Nintendo are the ones who should be sued for their absolutely hilarious incompetence regarding these leaks. They can't blame anyone but themselves. The system is merely a Switch "Pro", with minimal new features (which isn't a bad thing but is exactly the reason they haven't revealed it yet). It should have been released 2 years ago at least. They've waited too long and I commend these companies for waiting as long as they have. I'd laugh my ass off if it's fall 2025 and they still haven't revealed it and these clickbait KZbinrs are still sitting here saying "Some Redditor said the reveal is right around the corner!"

Genki's model didn't even have to be legit for Nintendo to go after them. Genki openly announced they had a real unit - that's admitting they possessed what is considered stolen property, which would be illegal. All Nintendo had to do was call the police for Genki to be investigated. I think this is why Genki quickly backtracked to say they didn't actually have a real unit at all and used one of the leaked renders. They didn't want the Vegas or Los Angeles police or FBI knocking down their doors to search for a Switch 2. We don't know for sure if that pin that pops out when trigger is pressed is a real feature or not. Could just be Genki speculation. Frankly, I don't know why you'd even want a pin there if you're turning controller on side to use as mouse and have high potential to bump that release trigger button - you'd want to the sliding surface to be as smooth as possible in all circumstances. May well be a release trigger button, but more likely would close a circuit that cuts power to the electromagnet that does the attachment rather than popping out a physical pin.

@@kg888 Genki isn't a Nintendo partner or licensee. They most certainly would not have gotten an official Switch 2 unit, let alone a test model or any other mold, directly from Nintendo. I'm not saying there aren't devices available on the black market. There may well be as my projections put them at about 2.25 million built so far and its not impossible to believe a few of them could go missing. But you don't be an idiot and tell people that's how you got it - that's admitting to a crime. And you don't tell the public that they can go do the same - that's probably against the CES presenter rules and likely got them kicked out of the show. CES surely does not want people told that pre-release electronics, whether its a Nintendo Switch 2, the latest Nvidia video card, the latest TV or mobile phone, or otherwise, can be had through the black market. CES surely requires presenters to consent to and sign forms that spell out what they can and can't do - and telling potential customers to resort to criminal activity is probably on a 'thou shalt not' list.

That rumor from the PS5 Pro and Alarmo leaker is curious. However, Nintendo CAN do anything they want. They could release Switch 2 less then Switch 1 and do a price INCREASE on Switch 1 to push people to getting Switch 2. Would be unconventional but doable. Also it could be, since Nintendo is at their most successful point in their history and they are the richest company in Japan, Nintendo COULD wish to give back as thanks for making the Switch so successful, and release the Switch 2 at a $100 loss to them for the first year so 1st year adopters get a little treat, then a year later bump the price up $50 (Sony did this with the PS5) That way they make the Switch 2 as appealing as possible, and guarantee a successful first year. Also the quick turn around from launch to release is plausible. You say there is no history for Nintendo doing this and that but that's how history works....there is no history UNTIL something is done. Nintendo has revealed and launched Alarmo out of the blue online and it sold out in 24 hours lol. So Nintendo CAN do whatever the heck they want. They could shadow drop a console and when they reveal it say they are on their way to stores currently, system is available in 2 weeks globally! They COULD do that if they wanted to. I don't believe the leakers but the Switch 2 being cheap make sense, the hardware is like very old, something like 2070ish-3060ti power, so not very costly. Also Nintendo knows that for many gamers Switch is not their main consoles, they like to have a PS5+ Switch or PC+Switch so $349 is very likely.

But what is the modern appeal of a Nintendo Switch 2 when you have access for Portable PC Gaming Handhelds like the Steamdeck that can play way more games and less restrictions while also being just as easy to use?
