Cameron just wanted to say fantastic video and after doing my own analysis I’ll be buying Nintendo on the current dip. For the bears out there I would say that Nintendo has something that none of the other big console developers have - nostalgia. Nintendo are only just starting to monetise that with theme parks, stores, films etc. Their IP is second only to Disney.

I have some suggestion. This channel is undervalued in terms of subscribers due to the scene. I got that it's comfortable to stand in front of TV but Mr. Stewart should develop this. Make a cozy studio, record Mr. Stewart sitting at the table and talking, record Excel screen cast separatly, merge it and do some video editing.

Cameron - You might want to take a look at Alimentation Couche-Tard which is a Canadian company that is the holding company for the Circle K convenient stores. The American ADR symbol is ANCTF. Thank you for the great video on Nintendo ! I have told my 9 year old daughter about it and it is perfect because it is something she can relate to. I am also very intrigued by this stock as well.

I think that some thing missing from this analysis is the product that Nintendo sells. They need to pull a rabbit out of the hat for their new consoles to have good sales. Also there should be a breakdown of their revenue stream according to each product. However Sony for example already has a great console in the PS5.

They have a high pe. No revenue growth and a bad cash flow. I dont see the appeal in the financial statement. But i do not know the business and do not know if they are likely to grow alot. If they are it does not show in the numbers available on yahoo. I hope for you it will work out well if youre holding it.

Add the cashflow yield to the cashflow growth assumption is a rough and ready way to estimate the IRR. It's too much of a fashion business for me and I suspect the performance will greatly depend on the popularity of their hardware and software and on that, I haven't a clue what the future holds. High end, more predictable fashion businesses are more interesting as investments for me; at the right price, of course. Crunching numbers can only get you so far in investment and Cameron's work is very solid where the businesses are more predictable. The final share price in 2030 could easily be several times higher or much lower than he estimates.

Hey Cameron. Love the videos. The low revenue periods was likely because of the flop console Wii U going through its cycle. Does that factor in at all in your rating? If they output another flop, revenues could drop like prior to the Switch. Although I think they are growing their moat and they are upscaling their current successful console instead of a brand new one, so this is a great time to buy, I can’t help but worry in five years time when they output something new. I have a while to reassess but I am curious what you and watchers think!

They didn't figure anything out. Nintendo is very product dependent, the Wii u didn't sell well which is why we see that dip before the switch came out. The switch is at the end of it's life and they haven't announced the next console which is likely why they're expecting a down year. The biggest problem with Nintendo is that they don't offer a good online experience, their servers are subpar which is why they don't have much in terms of consistent subscription profit (again their reliance on physical sales), and their deteriorating reputation in the gaming community. Their success in the next 5-7 years will depend on the success of their next console, if it doesn't sell we'll see more down years as previously seen. Also, note the switch (their main product for the past ~4 years) has had record sales there no guarantee they'll have that success again.

I'm having trouble understanding these. In the second method to estimate future price the FCFE/shr is used to predict a target. But then, in the IRR, this is added in again to calculate my total gain. Why is this not double counting? Why is my profit not simply the increase in share price plus total dividends received?

What’s happens to the cash generated but not dividend? It’s used to buyback shares or builds as exceed cash on the BS. In either case the price would be higher than my forecast. Rather than reduce the shares outstanding from buybacks (yet another assumption) i dividend all funds. Either way the cash needs to be included in the total return.

Interesting insights into financials positions. ...But what does he mean ... "Figured something out???" / What .."mostly a software company?" ... they do develop and manufacture a lot of hardware, switch, controllers, Labo (used to have multiple consoles at the same time). Nintendo does a lot with its IPs aside from producing Software with them. The revenue by its software is primarily/extremely dependent on Nintendos hardware sales performance, because they create their own and only market in which they are selling software, people are willing to pay full price and Nintendos own game have an extremely stable price. Does he have any clue about the video game market, game development, console cycles and Nintendos development philosophy (both hardware and software), Nintendo IPs etc.? How can he evaluate anything and make predictions if he seems to have 0 clue of what and how Nintendo is doing it's buisness compared to its competitors? Please don't buy Nintendo stocks, if you have no clue about it ... I don't need Nintendo to change its development principles only because thereare too many idiot investors are unhappy if the business business gets worse for totally understandable reasons. :D
