It's smart, it's really cynical but smart. They know 13 year olds really all think they want to be adults. They will eat up products seemingly marketed towards adults, but not towards kids. There are also basically almost only men using the console in the video, which is in the same vein, calculated, cynical - guys will never buy things perceived as "girl stuff".

you can use the pro controller with the tablet in mobile mode. In the Splatoon practice bit at the end, some of them were using the joycon and others were using the pro controller.

I think with the amiibo figures there is multiplayers with the Mario game. But Mario did a triple jump, indicating a true 3D game like N64 and Galaxy..... hope everyone has their own mechanics and unique moves :D And I think the dock will be the way they can implement disc reading for backward compatibility.

Jayden Lopez use a tempered glass screen protector, the joy sticks should prevent screen impact and contact with the ground, like with the 3ds or any portable electronic device you could buy a power bank and get a usb charger to charge on the go, battery life not confirmed.

I will say that having a touchscreen is very useful for features like netflix, hulu, crunchy roll basically anything that you have to put text into. I didn't see a stylus tho so I doubt it's touch.

I have to say I am pretty stoked for what this could bring to the industry of gaming. Nintendo has always been like Apple in the sense of trying to innovate how we use the technology and trying to be stylish. However this is the first time I have seen them truly outdo themselves. If this can deliver, then we are looking at a potential game changer no pun intended for the industry. The success of this could even change how Sony and Microsoft hand future consoles. This is why I am glad Nintendo do exists, they don't always deliver, but they keep everyone on their toes and set standards sometimes.

Looks like the left and right grip can be used as two seperate controllers, you mentioned you didn't know how, well each controller grip has a joystick and the left grip the dpad u/d/l/r is 4 seperate buttons which make up your a/b/x/y that are on the right grip

Yes, you can play the game in mobile fashion using the pro controller. They show it in the Splatoon segment, when the team is preparing for the tournament.

Oh also, you asked if the games will look as good on the go? Well yes, because it's the same game, there is no "mobile" and "home" version of the games, when you plug it into the dock or pull it out and play it on the go, it's identical. That's the point.

You can see that there is hitching when Breath Of The Wild is on the handheld portion of the console. So I think they might have an APU in the tablet and a dedicated GPU in the dock so when it's connected, the APU acts as a CPU and the Dock takes over the graphics processing. Just a guess but I doubt that the tablet alone can push 1080p at 60 or even 30 fps consistently.

In fact someone should make a video speculating how Sony will respond. I would think their natural course of action would be to try and offer something similar as a means to deter people from wanting to buy the switch. They could try flogging android tablets that can access a PSN account so that digital games on that account can be transferred to a tablet that can be played with a dual shock controller. I would hope that the detachable controllers are protected by patents as that would be the first thing to copy when trying to leverage their PS4 platform into the portable realm as part of copying the switch.

I agree that microsony will come up with their own hybrid consoles in time. In fact I"m sure they've got their RnD departments hard at work copying the switch already so that if the switch is a big hit they'll be able to launch their copycat products soon after the switch to limit it's impact while helping themselves to it's differentiating factor. However could Nintendo possibly have an agreement with Nvidia to not supply Nintendo's rivals with Tegra hardware? It may seem unlikely but not entirely impossible. AMD could possibly whip up an ARM SoC for Sony and Microsoft but Nvidia has a big headstart over them and a bigger RnD budget which would make it hard for AMD to have something ready in time for microsony to steal nintendo's thunder. Not to mention that their focus is on upgraded revisions of their current home consoles. They are both heavily invested in the home console space, any switch clone that they throw at the market would have a high chance of failing in the West and probably East as well. In the west xbox and playstation fanatics buy those consoles because they are graphics whores and don't give a damn about playing their games on the go and as such won't pay extra for new hardware to play play the same games on the go that they could play at home where they prefer to play.

Christian Bartelius how you'd need internet for that. There's no internet on an airplane unless u pay. That would be a disastrous decision plus the cartridges go directly into the portable console. Highly doubtful

Marketing it to adults was smart. Kids invariably want what the big kids have and kids will have no trouble getting to grips with this. It's young adults that Nintendo should be selling this to. Even though it's what Sony has done to great effect, and I can see plenty of reason for people who already have a ps4 to consider the switch as it's something unique and offers something Sony can't yet offer with PS4

I definitely think it will be touch. I think this because the screen can sit on its own, so it makes since that you could control it to at least get back to a home screen and such without having to hook the controllers up. Also touch has just become a given for most all technology to have touch capabilities. I cant tell you how many times people have walked up and started poking at my screen to start applications.

I'm sacrificing my PC parts to upgrade my PC for the Nintendo Switch and I'm selling my ps vita along with 5 decent games a 32gb memory card and the ps vita wifi model itself to get the Nintendo switch and games and accessories for the switch so excited. Cos I remember the days when I would play the WII with my whole family and have fun this is what I want to happen again with the switch......Hope the Switch lives up to be a great console xD.....
