According to what? Because facts say, Nintendo always aimed to make game consoles at affordable prices, never going for the most expensive hardware, just for fun gimmicks that are worth buying into. You could say it's how "They keep selling games that should have been free" like with Switch sports or 1 2 Switch, since the Wii had game like those included, but you also gotta consider it was a lot cheaper to make games 19 years ago (yes, I can't believe it's been that long either), so now it's kind of asking too much to get free games that take a lot of time in development.

Investors should be more patient with nintendo. Nintendo games are probably cheaper to make than the typical ps5/xbox series x titles yet they have outstanding sales numbers on lesser hardware while also keeping their value for many years. Switch games rarely reduce that far below their release price. Sure its a business but u dont make anything if the consumer isnt interested. Where nintendo benefits from is making profit from a few million sales whereas big Sony/Microsoft titles probably rely on 10-20m+ sales. Nintendo target all types of consumers and do well in that regard. Bigger corporations put all their money into 1 product only targeting the majority of consumers which comes at a bigger risk if its not a hit, which in this current gen has been a very common occurrrence.

Mario Kart! I hope Mario Kart comes out without year 1 or 2 of the next system we been playing Mario Kart 8 for 10 years now and as a Mario Kart fan we're trusty for a new entry Pokémon Legends Z-A could be a launch title for the next system, which would of course do wonders for the new system the next big Mario game is probably also a safe guess for year 1 as well as probably a Kirby game (especially if he misses this year, which as of right now seem like will be the chase) a brand new Rayman game would be nice to see too, espesially if the Switch sucessor releases next year it could be a Nintendo exclusive (at least a timed exlusive) and it's Rayman's 30th anniversary next year so plis don't let him miss that Ubisoft!

I waited in line to get the Wii on launch day and my roommate paid for it. I think only about 5 people behind me in line got one and then that store was out of stock for the week. I easily got a pre-order for the Switch at Wal-Mart a week or two after the announcement, but once it launched it was really hard to find and people were scalping it. Within 4-6 months it was pretty easy to find though. I even got the Splatoon 2 bundle for my wife and could have gotten the Mario Odyssey bundle if I hadn't been broke, there were two in a local store and they didn't disappear right away.

@@MarioSonicBee Leakers are cool and all, but sometimes they ruin the surprises for both the company setting them and the consumers. While it is good to have the information, nothing is new or surprising when the company announces it themselves. By removing leakers, there is hype and people feel the need to stay tuned with the company for updates. And when the company finally announces it, they spill the beans on everything, all at once. Everything is a surprise because it's new. The company announcing everything at once is such a good experience for everyone including consumers vs. hearing everything one bit at a time, and when the reveal finally comes, everyone and consumers are like "Oh, cool, we can finally expect a release soon." Hearing everything all at once is a good experience for consumers in general, and what companies like for their consumers. If leakers give out information, especially when the company has something BIG planned, that surprise is ruined when the reveal comes by. For some reason, I get the sense (despite not showing in the tweet) that while writing the tweet announcing that the successor even exists, the Nintendo President was pissed while writing it, because he knew that he is writing it in the first place because people also know it exists and they know nearly every little detail of the Switch 2. Everyone thinks that it will be in the June presentation, and they don't want any backlash for not announcing it, so they clarify it first. But the point is, leakers ruin the experience for consumers.

@@simone5760 because just like Metroid Prime, F Zero is one of Nintendos realistic looking IPs and the series is ment to demo the graphical capabilities of the systems it's on. The next console is going to have a big graphical leap and it might not be very noticeable for a series like mario which leans more on the 3D cartoonish style (unless you want a realistic look mario game). Going to F Zero and Metroid Prime makes sense to show off the graphical power of the next system, especially when you consider that Nintendo is capable of squeezing everything they can out of the system to make their games look good. Also it would be smart to use F Zero 99 to get people to introduce people to the series and then release a new game. StarFox is a similar story with F Zero, but unfortunately being a series that gets used to explore unwanted hardware gimmicks. Hopefully after Star Fox Zero Miyamoto will start trying again and let Bandai Namco be the ones to develop star fox games.

I have 3 games for the Switch successor on my mind (1 Zelda, 1 Mario, and 1 Kirby). The Zelda game on my mind is the direct sequel to Tears of the Kingdom (I would put Echoes of Wisdom in the downfall timeline). That game should have Hyrule fully restored and Link (the Champion of Hyrule) marrying Zelda (the princess of Hyrule). The wedding takes place in Hyrule Castle Town. Then the day after the wedding, just when Link and Zelda are about to go on their honeymoon, Zelda gets dragged to the depths beneath Hyrule Castle and Link gets thrown into the sky about to die, then an uproar representing Ganondorf’s voice sounds. Ganondorf’s Soul is attacking Hyrule. Ganondorf intends to be reborn and destroy Hyrule once and for all. Suddenly, a new Light Dragon catches Link to save him from death and takes him to a hot spring on the sky island above Hyrule Castle to recover from injuries. Rito Village, Goron City, Zora’s Domain, and Gerudo Town are in trouble once again. It’s up to Link to stop Ganondorf and save his wife and all of Hyrule. The Zelda game should be called “The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Romantic Adventure.” The Mario game on my mind is a 3D Super Mario game. That game should have Mario and Luigi marrying Peach and Daisy respectively. Both weddings take place at Peach’s Castle at the same time. The day after the weddings, Mario and Luigi receive a honeymoon invitation from Peach and Daisy telling the Bros. to meet the princesses there. On their way to the honeymoon, suddenly, the Bros. run into Bowser who has taken the princesses. Bowser is taking the princesses to his castle on the moon. Bowser intends to steal Mario’s marriage to Peach while giving Daisy a seat to watch the wedding. The Koopa King is up to no good again. Mario and Luigi get onto Bowser’s ship only for Kamek to suddenly appear and use his magic to knock the Bros. off and send them flying. Mario and Luigi land in an unfamiliar place. Mario and Luigi then take turns adventuring to stop Bowser’s wedding and rescue their wives while traveling through various kingdoms on a ship called the Honeymoon and collecting Power Moons along the way. The player can choose to play as either Mario or Luigi. The game supports 2-player mode. In 2-player mode, one player plays as Mario whereas the other player plays as Luigi. The screen is also split in 2-player mode. The name of the 3D Mario game should be called “Super Mario Honeymoon.” The Kirby game on my mind should have Kirby about to have a reunion with his friends in Dreamland. Suddenly, monster forces kidnap Kirby’s friends. It’s up to Kirby to save his friends and Dreamland. The name of the Kirby game should be called “Kirby’s Reunion in Dreamland.”

I think an amazing launch window for Switch 2, realistically, could have a new 3D Mario, Animal Crossing, Metroid Prime 4 cross-gen and that Emio game. That covers all the bases for age range and interests. Emio’s teaser said Nintendo, but it didn’t have the Switch logo, so I think that’s a strong possibility. But if you want crazy, I also want Okami 2, a Chrono Trigger remake, a Paper Mario 64 remake, a new instalment of Trauma Center, a Space Quest collection, and a Wario Land game involving Waluigi.

Let's assume that the Next Switch is unveiled at CES in January: With both Metroid Prime 4 Beyond and Pokémon Legends Z-A slated for 2025, that should hit big enough to help tide everyone over until the Fall 2025 launch. The current Switch _shall_ have Christmas 2024 as a last hurrah for hardware sales! Also: Xenoblade Chronicles X and Fire Emblem Fates or Path of Radiance anniversary ports next year.

One thing that might be considered is if we will be getting a big new IP near the consoles release. Ever since the gamecube we've been seeing new big IPs around a consoles launch (your Pikimin, your miis, your Splatoon games, etc.). The big console launch IP for a Nintendo, Arms, was not that big of a hit, so it might make nintendo be wary of have another flop like that.

My dream launch year (that might be possible) would be Mario Kart as the launch title (around april), Metroid Prime 4 Enhanced Edition (cross gen release) month 2, new Super Mario game month 3, some new IP or abandoned franchise like F-Zero month 4, ending the summer with Monolith Soft's new IP month 5 in August, either a fun Mario Sports game, or a game perfect for the handheld experience like Mario Maker 3, OR a Zelda remake like OoT HD or TP & WW bundle month 6, then October should have the second strongest game of the year (but I can't think of any) so the secret DK 3D project or the new Fire Emblem game releases month 7, in November Pokémon Legends releases from Gamefreak alongside Splatoon 4 month 8, the last month of the year don't really have something big so it might be a port or some filler title that can be fun over the holidays with relatives and friends. I think this line-up is too good to be true. I think it is too many huge games for only the first year of Switch 2's life, but if it would happen to be the line-up. The console would have something for all fans. Even a minimum of three multiplayer online games if Metroid would miraculously have that feature! 😁

Honestly, Now that I am thinking about it. Imagine if the next 3D Mario is Mario Galaxy 3. It's an open world space adventure. That would be so insanely awesome. A new 3D Kirby Game because I think we all know what the next 3D Kirby Game is gonna be for Switch 2 because it’s gonna be a sequel for Kirby and the Forgotten Land where Kirby and his friends are enjoying themselves in Waddle Dee Town or in Dreamland but then another portal shows up and sucks up Kirby and his friends and they have to go through this world and figure out who brought them to this world which it could be the ancients and in the sequel they will give you new copy abilities and upgrades, new mouthful modes, new bosses which it would be cool to see Kracko be in a 3D Kirby Game and having new playable characters like King Dedede, Meta Knight, and Clawroline so that would be cool for what HAL could be working on for the next 3D Kirby Game on Switch 2 2. Not adding Tomodachi Life, Kirby Triple Deluxe, and Kirby Planet Robobot because I'm still hoping for these games to finally come out on Switch 1 instead of being on Switch 2! 3. Kirby RPG and maybe it could be based around both the Kirby Games and The Kirby Anime and finally add Tiff, Tuff, and Escargoon in it 4. Kirby Party where you can play Minigames and play boards and add all the Kirby Characters from the Kirby games and the Kirby Anime 5. A new 3D Mario Game kinda like Super Mario Odyssey 6. A new 3D or 2D Donkey Kong Game 7. A New Starfox Game 8. A new Mario Kart Game called Mario Kart X 9. A brand new Mario Party Game 10. A new WWE Game 11. A new Mii Game and hopefully they don't use the new ugly new versions of the Miis from Nintendo Switch Sports cause they look so bad and they ruin the Miis 12. A new Punch-Out Game 13. Nintendo GameCube Library coming to the NSO for Switch 2 or could come to Switch 1 who knows? 14. Pizza Tower being on Switch 2 or Switch 1 if their is a chance or not for it 15. A brand new Wario Land Game called Wario Land 5 or 6 if you count Wario Land Shake It 16. A new 2D Kirby Game 17. Kirby Air Ride 2 but they can add Tiff, Tuff, and Escargoon in it since Kirby Right Back At Ya did do episodes based around Kirby Air Ride back then so it would make sense 18: Kirby and the Rainbow Curse and they can add King Dedede and Meta Knight as playable characters 19: Kirby Battle Royale but with new copy abilities, new stages, and new playable characters 20. And a new Mario Baseball Game And that's all my predictions for what games Nintendo could add for Switch 2

Predictions Pokemon legends ZA and Metroid prime 4 as simultaneous launch titles. Later in the year: Mario Kart; Sandbox/open world mario, that Fire emblem remake and a new i:p of some kind (I would hope for an RPG or 2D platformer).

Nintendo shpuld realease Mario Kart 9 and a Deluxe Port with additional Characters of Super Smash Bros Ultimate and BOOM...the Switch 2 would automatically a big sales hit from the Start! A port of MP4 is very welcome and Nintendo should tease the next big Mario 3D-Title and Animal Crossing successor to please the fans for the future!

They need to have a next gen Zelda title for switch 2. Yeah we just got totk but that was more of a continuation of botw and did not feel like a true sequel. I noticed nobody is talking about it anymore and I can see why. Also a new Mario kart is way over due.

Announcement before Christmas would be silly. Smash a Mario cart need to be left in the past. The concept is done to death. No new courses or arenas will freshen it up. Nintendo needs new IPs and more Mario, DK, maybe Zelda and Peach and the like. Remake the old and bring in the new. But we know Nintendo will be Nintendo so who can really guess. My backlog is so massive they could hibernate for years and I’d still never catch up.
