At least it's OFFICIALLY and DIrectly confirmed. SO we went from 99.8% confirmed to 100%. Now we get to speculate as to how much improvement and to what degree that games get the improvements in backwards compatiblity.

Its always been speculated because of the nintendo site stating that accounts will move forward...at least now its official with all that. THey dont play the sony game, they play their own but this will still be a win for nintendo and their overall sales. But nice to know my library wont be reset it will be compatible and the oleds i have are still useful.

They just did the one thing that keeps 2024 in play for at least a trailer. And during the investor meeting, it was also said that they’re confident that a reveal wouldn’t affect holiday sales. Backward compatibility confirmed prior to reveal would ensure that a reveal would not affect software sales and probably would not affect negatively affect hardware sales.

With 140+ million Switch under their belt there was no way Nintendo was not going to give them BC and risk losing some of those 140+ million Switchers on the next Switch..This way there is a higher chance that all 140 million Switchers will migrate to Switch 2
