There was also Brazil's statement that Nintendo is following a similar release schedule as the first Switch. And according to rumors or whatever, the first Switch was SUPPOSED to have been revealed in September 2016, but they couldn't show it because Mario Odyssey wasn't ready, so I highly think a September reveal is likely

That’s what I’m hoping for. If they do make a successor to the switch, I’m hoping that it will do exactly that. I want it to be like the PS3 and the PS4 and Xbox 360 and Xbox one where it can be backwards compatible. Cause I already have a boatload of Nintendo switch games. Lol.

Most Switch 1 games locked at 30 Frames (ie. BOTW) are capable of running at 60 Frames, but are locked to 30 for a more stable experience. so I think this idea is likely.

For me, I just hope that the switch Successor is powerful enough so that Black myth: Wukong can be ported to it. That game is awesome but I don't have a ps5, And honestly I don't want to get one.( There's only two games I like That Sony has and that's wukong and ratchet &clank, Also I can save, But saving for a $500 game console and 2 $70 games isnt worth it. Especially since i have an oled switch with a few games).

Thats exactly how I see it. New hardware with the exact same Switch games enhanced when inserted into Switch 2. Previous Switch 1 games should get some minor enhancements when inserted into Switch 2. New and future Switch games should have full Switch 2 enhancements that also work in Switch 1. I am also looking forward to Switch Lite revision , as well as Switch 2. What would be cool is if, Switch Lite, was optional controller with screen for Switch 2. (Play DS, 3DS games and have enhanced Wii-U features) What I would like to see for Switch Lite revision: 1. Rumble. 2. External Microphone, for voice chat, even though Bluetooth or Headphone jack could be used. 3. Bezel-less 720p display, which would increase screen size as large as current LCD Switch. 4. Fixed internal storage as well as slot for expandable internal storage. 5. Dockable 4K play, direct HDMI cable. 6. Two GAME CARD slots. 7. Two USB-C ports. 8. sold for $100, even with all these revisions, as Switch Lite hardware is so cheap after all these years. Nintendo could even put, 16GB or 32GB RAM LPDDR4, in Switch Lite, with all these revisions and still sell it for $70 / $100. Thats how cheap the hardware is.

Nintendo only does this when they want to move old stock before. They dump something new into the market. Like before the OLED came out.*

@@TomHolmes197 And Nintendo also kept making regular Switches after they moved old stock out to make room for the OLED. Just because they're clearing out old stock doesn't mean they're clearing out ALL of it. Nintendo will probably still support the Switch and make themes for it for a good few years after the Switch 2 launches, like they did with the 3DS (or more specifically, the 2DS XL)

People are exited. As a switch owner I have Zelda, Mario and Luigi, dragon quest 3 2d hd and Fantasia for the rest of 2024. No mention that some indies look interesting. Personally the only thing that urges me is know that the switch 2 will be fully backward compatible both physical and digital.

Had not been for the Zelda release, I’d have say yes. But keep in mind this is an important release, I don’t think Nintendo wants to over shadow it with the Switch 2 reveal… So my guess is 2nd to 3rd week of October after the hype for Zelda’s release fade away.

October is likely the only month it will be revealed in 2024. There's little chance they would want to overshadow the launch of Echoes of Wisdom in September, so if not October then it will be pushed to an early 2025 announcement date. I still think it will release holiday 2025 and no earlier.

Nope. It's gonna be named the "Switch Up". That way for the commercials for it they can say stuff like hey Switch owners or lovers, it's time to "Switch Up" etc etc. You can see how with a name like that it'll be so easy for Nintendo to make easy ads that'll stick in every ones head. You know nothing about Nintendo if you think anything in their history shows that they would re-release TOTK with DLC as a launch title. "But Mario Kart 8 DELUXE!!!" No, not Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Mario Kart 8 release on the FAILED SYSTEM. Re-releasing it was essentially the same as releasing a NEW game since 90% of Switch owners had never played it. TOTK is on one of their most popular systems of all time, and it is one of the best-selling Zelda games every. Nintendo isn't lazy.
