I really liked how this video was carried out, never felt like you let your own feelings guide your judgement on the games remastered, it maintained a balanced feeling which i liked. Also - pretty excited to see kingdom hearts video, been meaning to get into the series for a while so this might finally sell me on it!

I definitely wouldn’t consider the 3D All Stars version of 64 to be definitively worse than the original because it’s the Shindou version. I personally think that it’s really cool that that version got a rerelease, and while it would’ve been better to be able to pick which version you want to play, I’ve always found it quite ridiculous that people thought Nintendo was doing a bad thing by using a less buggy version of the game. I doubt most speedrunners would be playing this version anyway, so why is it such a big deal? Game developers are allowed to patch bugs, and it shouldn’t be controversial.

I also think its cool that the Shindou version is accessible in some way, but at the same time this collection was intended to be a celebration of the series' history, and regardless of whether or not the tricks speedrunners use are bugs or not, the fact remains that those bugs are partially responsible for creating the speedrunning scene as we know it. So while I agree this version is not outright "worse" than the original, I do think its pretty lame to only include this version that removes a lot of its "history" for the lack of a better word. Esspecially since games like OOT 3D intentionally left some speedrunning bugs in because they were such a big part of the original's legacy, idk it just bugs me a little bit. I guess it doesn't matter too much anymore since they don't sell 3d all stars anymore and the og version is the one on NSO lol

it ll be interesting to know ur opinion on ports like skywardsword hd, luigi and dkcr being sold at 60

I didn't mind it for Skyward Sword HD, but for LM2 and DKCR I don't think there's enough of an upgrade to warrant a full $60, esspecially after the Metroid Prime remaster released at $40 and looks far better than the other two
