Thermal paste loses a ton of its properties after separating both parts, air bubbles will penetrante increasing cpu temperature. Beware of the temperatures, sudden shutdown of the device or throttling/stuttering while playing. I would for sure replace the paste every time I remove the heat pipe.

I think you should do a teardown of a Nintendo 3DS system, maybe an older model, because I know they're a pain in the ass to repair. I had a problem with mine where the ribbon cable connecting the top and bottom screens folded in on itself, creased, and messed with the exposure of the display of my system. (Had a bunch of vertical black lines going through the top screen that flickered. And eventually evolved into where the picture display of it looks like it had been messed with, like the contrast of it was really bright, and looked awful. But if I was lucky, it would flicker back to normal) My boyfriend tried fixing it by reseating said cables, because he thought they were just loose cables sticking out. By doing that, it ended up folding the cable even more and tearing it. Bought me a new screen with new ribbon cables 3 separate occasions, tried to reassemble it, but accidently ripped it, and gave up. The system was well loved. It had a little funeral. And he bought me a New Nintendo 3ds xl. So I was curious it if would be as much of a pain for you to take apart and put back together then it was for him. Love your videos!

Same market strategy as apple. Prevent consumers from repairing thier own systems. Thus creating revenue through repair and maintenance which only Nintendo can do. The idea here is to create a "locked" system. P.S. if anything breaks on your Nintendo, you're supposed to ship it back to them.

My switch game won't stay in place and I suspecting there is a piece that may have broken that does that job. I was thinking I could maybe take it apart to fix it but I am overwhelmed by your video and my lack of experience in doing stuff like that. This video was awesome and it's cool to get a look inside of the switch. Thanks!

I'm so happy I watched this before deciding to throw away my old switch, the internal storage on it has irreplaceable hours time put into the games, if I can take it out and put it on a new switch it should work, too bad I don't have any tools or experience taking one apart, so I'll probably just pay a professional to do it 😅.

The triwing screwdriver was a pain in the ass to order, apart from that it.s quite easy to replace the thermal compound with a MX4 and give it a good cleaning after 1.5 years of life.

Great video. I have two switch. The "good" ones manufactured before Middle of 2018. I do not intend to buy another video console. The switch is perfect and will suit all my needs that I would like to be able to conserve it and use it the next 15-20 years or even longer ;-) One I play the most time in dock mode. The other I play the most time only in portable mode. But in general I do not find plenty of time in playing video games. So I do not use it. After a couple of weeks the accumulator is totally empty and it needs time to be able to start. There is no hardware fault. Question 1 What is the best frequency to charge the accumulator for a switch used the most time in dock mode? Q2 What is the best frequency to charge the accumulator for a switch used the most time in portable mode? Q3 How full should the battery be charged before it is going into "hibernation" Q4 I do not assume that Nintendo planned that uses will play in 10 years with their switch. Do you see a risk of fire if the accumulator is too old and it should be changed after some years? Q5 Do you have other good hints how to conserve a switch? Thank you for your time. I guess the answer to this questions might be useful for other users too.

Good tutorial, but a warning, be extremely careful with the micro SD card reader, the connector id extremely flimsy, from my to pins broke off when opening. Still glad i did cause i saw my switch thermal paste is all crusted up and it was very dusty inside

You know, you once get obsessed with something, then lose interest. But with the ring fit I HAVE TO get it
