yeah I feel so young because instead of being nostalgic for consoles that came out decades ago I'm nostalgic for something that came out in like, 2013. I feel like I'm gonna get called a newgen or something.

isn't it a shame that people won't feel this kind of nostalgia for the switch OS? the lack of music everywhere along with theming is really tragic, i totally feel for kids born around like 2010 growing up with this system

For anyone curious, the Wii U uses the same Macronix DSP used in the GameCube and Wii, which has a sample depth of 16 bits, and sample rate of 32kHz.. (Did you think it was 44.1kHz too just because it’s a home console?😅) It can sequence a total of 16 channels as you can see here! (3DS sound is better confirmed (it has 40 more channels than the Wii U.😐))

@LandonEmma Yes, 40! The 3DS utilizes a DSP called the “Ceva Teaklite II” which supports up to 24 channels, plus another audio block called the “CSND”, which possesses an insane 32 channels!! Despite being treated as separate blocks, both can still playback audio simultaneously, making the total amount of voices 56!💪

I wouldn’t worry.. I’m pretty sure there’s no such thing as a 3DS song that actually uses all of the voices. All of the ones we’ve seen so far (specifically on Orj’s channel) just use a 16-channel limit. It’s possible that they simply use only the DSP and reserve the last 8 channels for sound effects.

just gotta say keep up what you're doing dude, awesome work. i used to watch a ton of oscilloscope videos of songs from games like sonic 3 & knuckles so seeing oscilloscopes still being made is awesome, especially the fact it can be done with more modern and complex tracks like this. it's still so fascinating seeing every tiny bit of songs visualized like this

Fun fact: I thought some of the variants of this theme (specifically the idle themes) were errors in the music because I didn’t know there *were* variants of this theme at the time.😅

What is funny is that the gamepad and the tv have the same menu theme but not the same sounds and that is a nice touch for me :)

Esto me da una nostalgia inexplicable, la WiiU ha sido la consola que más me ha marcado en mi infancia y volver a escuchar esto después de varios años se siente... como volver al pasado. Qué recuerdos cuando la encendía y luego ponía MarioKart 8, Pikmin 3, Mario 3D Wolrd o Smash Bros 4. Y sus pantallas de carga también las recuerdo muy bien; en especial la de pikmin 3, que me transmitía la sensación de hacerme pequeño y entrar a un mundo misterioso ❤️🌱

You’re back… uh, I keep thinking you’re dead, but you keep coming back unexpectedly. I’ll tell you something. I won’t be telling you to do everything in the kiosk demo, since I have told Connor to do a few tracks. So I don’t think you have to do Baby Park or SNES Mario Circuit 3 from the kiosk demo, since he has it on his requests list. He’ll likely do it instead. I’ll probably do the same with Ermii kart DS and CTGP Nitro as well TBH.

My first game console, aside from the 3ds and 360. Did you know you can deconstruct cd music by using splitter programs that can split up certain parts of the song like bass and percussion? Try doing that with the tekken 4 soundtrack.
