When I finished the Darker Side of the Moon and Cappy was telling me what an adventure this has been and how amazing it was, I started tearing up, because he's absolutely right. It WAS an adventure and I enjoyed every second of it. 10/10. Will play it over and over for years to come. Fingers crossed for an Odyssey 2 teaser soon!

Think it’s about time I leave a comment here. When I was 9, I remember that this game looked like the coolest thing ever. I didn’t have a switch at the time, and I didn’t want to ask for one for Christmas because they’re $300 and I knew that was a lot of money. Fast forward to Christmas of 2017, and my parents surprise me with a Nintendo Switch, Mario Kart, and a copy of this game. I was so hyped to play it, and basically spent the rest of Christmas break blitzing through it. Turns out, it was the coolest game ever. Now I’m 14 years old, coming up on 15. I’m in freshman year of high school instead of 4th grade. Now I’m into the gaming world, and I couldn’t be happier. Honestly, almost all of my friends today are because of that. And it all started with my favorite game of all time, Super Mario Odyssey.

Man I’m watching this seven years later. I’m an adult now and I was a middle schooler when this game came out. I remember growing up with the old Mario games due to my family having old consoles but when this game came out it was insane. I remember looking at the trailer (this was around the time I first started watching KZbin) and telling my parents about it and them now believing me and the game later coming out and me playing it and them watching me like non stop for two years. Revisiting it all these years later as a soon to be college freshmen, it still holds that magic that middle school me had. That era of hype will always live rent free in my mind.

I remember on Christmas, my step dad pulled one of those box in a box pranks, but finally, I got surprised with a Switch. It was actually bundled with this game. Eight years ago. EIGHT YEARS AGO. HOW?! This is my favourite game of all time. It’s tied with Minecraft, because I love them both so much for different reasons, so I can’t really choose a favourite. I’m fairly young at only sixteen, so I was very young when I got it. It’s actually nostalgic for me. And I always feel stupid saying it’s nostalgic because it’s only three or four years old in my mind. But then I remember that it’s approaching a decade. I find it really hard to explain how much this game means to me. I got this when I was young so I was really bad, but looking back on it, I’m so glad I was bad. I took my time with it and watched all the cutscenes and everything. It took me a whole year before reaching and defeating Bowser in the Moon Kingdom. That’s why this game feels like a proper adventure to me - it actually took me a really long time in real life. Even seven/eight years later, I’m still on my first playthrough coming so close to 100%ing it. That one moon in the capless sub area behind the Odyssey in the Dark Side, the second volleyball moon, and the Darker Side multi moon are killing me. Anyway, this game always holds a very special place so close to my heart. I constantly crave the same blissful feeling I got when first playing this. And the music. THE MUSIC. ugh. It’s phenomenal. Undoubtedly the best computer game music I have ever heard in my entire life, even better than that of C418. Every time I hear Fossil Falls or Jump Up Superstar I am flooded with nostalgia. One of my ultimate goals in life is to create a game that can recreate such a care-free feeling of absolute happiness for future generations and people of all ages in the same way that Super Mario Odyssey did like no other game all those years ago for me. Thank you so much. It really feels good to finally be able to express how much this game means to me. Love you as always

I just don't want the entire game to BE primarily old content *cough3dlandand3dworldcough*. In fact, I personally want to see the Cape Feather. It's been forever since it was in a mainstream Mario platformer (emphasis on mainstream. I know about Mario Kart 8 Deluxe) and it would be a breath of fresh air to see a returning flying powerup other than the super leaf. So far, this game is looking great.

IT'S GONNA BLAST INTO OBLIVION, THAT'S WHAT! No, seriously. This game is overrated more than the Undertale and FNAF fan bases. The execution for this game is not handled well, and I feel like it's going to be a Sonic 06 clone that was actually finished, but sucks regardless. It's too open world, and makes me think there are going to be side quests and missions like Sonic 06. When I first saw this trailer, we were all teased by a potential Sonic Adventure remake, and got something worse. It's like the trainer in Pokemon Gen 4 that you can trade a Medicham for a Haunter that has an Everstone. They try to lure you in giving you high expectations, and troll you.

Can't believe six years passed from this trailer. When there were only handful of games to purchase on the Nintendo switch the game's trailer utterly excited me for the game's own release and for upcoming games. After playing through the whole game collecting the entire moons hidden (999 moons) I can confirm it was worth it. Every stage throughout the game included a different atmosphere, characters and mechanics which were fun to explore. Nowadays I don't play much of any video games and whenever I'm being reminded of them it feels as I forgot an enjoyable part of my childhood that can't be restored.
