To be honest, I have no idea why I’m watching this. Almost two years after release, I’ve put hundreds of hours into the game, loving almost every minute. I guess I’m on a tiny nostalgia trip.

I played for about 40 hours when it first came out and then got busy and sidetracked with other games coming out. Just recently picked up where I left off and now I'm hooked again, up to 115 hours total. I never saw this video back at the time. In 2016 I wasn't even really playing current games or paying attention, just vaguely knew they were working on a new Zelda game.

Superb. I think they should add a Special running mode, when you hold it, Link can just go on autopilot to run pass and turn the dangerous edges without stopping, like at 0:42 . It would be smoother I think. Other than that, Zelda has always been my favorite games since long.

Minor detail, but I love how Link's feet angle themselves to be flat against whatever surface he's on, such as standing on a roof.

Me too. A lot of companies never bother to account for differences in stance, so you often have NPCs in stances resembling a flat surface so one of their feet are in the air.

My gosh, I put maybe 350 hours into it. I love the game, but I have gotten tired off of it. Tried to beat the game 3 hearts Master Mode, done all the bosses except for the dessert one. Seems impossible.

@@Thesamurai1999, I have yet to do Master Mode seriously, so that could be extra content for me. I played around with glitches for a while, 100%-ing also took a little while. There were many, many times where I'd just explore with not real aim. 😅

what really impressed me was the ACTUAL custom map markers (sword, skull, shield, etc) to let you know EXACTLY what goal you plan to take of your choice. Much better than typical stock "primary and secondary" markers.

I like the markers and the purpose of them. It's awesome that you're not just screwing around hoping to walk into a story event. But i do miss the old Morrowind style navigation where you were told to a general direction and off you went. It truly encouraged exploration because you were always going into random caves, town, traversing mountains, just to find that next story mission. But i understand that most people these days would simply give up if they couldn't find where to go after a certain amount of time. I suppose i'm just wallowing in the past XD

13:00 Was that feature taken out in the final game? I don’t recall ever seeing it. Also, 13:35 there’s an animation when opening up the menu, and also when closing the menu. The way they design the map was pure genius. I can found my own way to travel long distances without having to take a look at my map. I spent hundred hours on other games and I never succeed to memories so many places easily as I do in breath of the wild. This is where they make the revolution in « open world » games.

So this game's got elements of Minecraft's Survival mode with it's hunting and gathering, Elder Scrolls with the giant open world and the way you're thrown into it, and now MGSV with how you can scope things out, mark them and even scan enemies at 12:48. God damn, this is gonna be great.

The games not even out yet and i'm allready adicted to it. I just can't get enough of the artstyle, the combat, the beutiful vistas, just looking at the size of the map makes me struggle to contain my hype. I love the mystery, the wonder, the excitement. The paraglider looks really fun. For some reason I just love the way you shoot arrows in this game, it looks very fluid. The RPG elements will probably suck me in. And all this for a game I've never even played, it can't come any sooner.

I'm soon confused how one can criticize this game.. it's open world, which looks amazing.. it has a sense of realism while being a rpg.. It reminds me of my favorite games, runescape, fantasy life, and LoZ of course, rolled into one epic game. I've watched a bunch of people play this game and every time, they do something different.. And nintendo is promising this is only 2% of the game lol. That's pretty exciting to me. As far as the background music, or lack of, I like it. it's called "Breath of the Wild." there is no music playing out in the wilderness lol. plus it's a calming quiet, which would be really different from most other games. And I think it's a unique difference that people will enjoy. Overall the gameplay looks great. I really can't wait to get my hands on it and actually play it for myself lol

If the clothing options are stat-based, then I'm gonna assume that Link's traditional hat and tunic have the highest stats in the game. If I'm wrong then I would love a great customization feature.

I'd imagine they have some sort of bonus, but things such as armor probably have more defense, for example. Such as how the biggoron sword did twice as much damage as the master sword in OOT but you couldn't use the shield with it.

Its possible it could have the highest attack stat and protects against the elements, but maybe standard defense. I'm hoping its a tunic that resembles his Zelda 1, 2, ALttP, and ALBW outfits.

Not so sure this game is going in the direction of giving one outfit the best overall stats. There'll probably be high defense stats on something like the traditional outfit or magic armor but there's also outfits designed to increase stealth and speed. One thing I'd like to see them do is take something like the golden gauntlets and iron boots and give them a function in combat. If the golden gauntlets give you enough strength to throw boulders around you'd think they could make you strong enough to do something like dual wield the master sword with big goron sword or be able to fight in a hand-to-hand combat style. Could use the iron boots as a kicking weapon.

Can we all just appreciate how good Sam was as a host, she felt very genuinely excited yet calm and collected. Scanning and marking enemies seeing how skilled the enemies are, sneaking while killing, surviving the wild and picking mushrooms, open world, this game is like mgs3 and phantom pain at the same time in the medieval era. I saw another video where they said there will be people and towns, but they didn't want to spoil anything, so they just stuck to the beginning area, which is mostly wilderness.

Your weapon flashes red in the inventory screen when it's about to break so that's something at least.

the game always tells you when a weapon is about to break, so i don't think the meter would help. And by easy i meant that the experience of surviving would be lost.

You know it's funny how this was years ago and it still surprises me to see how they changed it so much compared to the actual game. Plus its funny how they have the champions tunic and different shields and weapons that aren't on the great plateau. Either way so much fun. To good of a game to not play.

Finally Zelda gets back to it's roots of open exploration! We haven't had a game this open and explorable since the very first Zelda on the NES. Just like the NES, you're basically given no dialog or story and told to just 'do it'. You can do dungeons out of order and everything. Even the first character you meet is a robed old man! I can't wait to play this game!

DIfferences between this version of the game and released version for the Nintendo Switch: 1. The time it is, is shown inside the map circle 2. There is no forcast icon showing what the weather will look like in the near future and showing what the current weather is 3. When Link collected Blue Nightshade, the popup showing you collected a new item not collected in the game before, in that popup, the Blue Nightshade had a glowing yellow circle/glowing yellow rays around it and in the released version for the Switch, there is no rays around items in there popup

I remember this BotW tree house lasted around 8 hours and I watched it all lmao and the whole gameplay was exploring the Great Plateau and some extra shrines. I'm a bit glad Nintendo has not shown a lot from Tears of the Kingdom because this Tree House spoiled a lot of the new mechanics and extra details that would've been worth discovering myself.
