With Iwata's death, Reggie's retirement, and the ongoing pandemic, it doesn't seem like we'll be getting more cheesy Nintendo skits anytime soon. Doug Bowser referenced the fact that his surname is the same as Mario's Bowser at E3 2019, but there doesn't seem to be anything from him since.

The early part of the last decade was a strange time for Nintendo. The 3ds struggled out of the gate and the Wii U wasn't the success Nintendo hoped for. But they were absolutely killing it with these directs. Iwata's death was largely the reason why these skits stopped but I think the success of the Switch also meant that Nintendo didn't need to carry their content with goofy skits. I do miss these though...

I still think Wii U + PC is probably the best way to go this gen. PS4, Xbone and PC all have the same x86 architecture and porting one game to another and vice versa won't be a problem anymore. This is how I see it though.
