A playthrough of Zoo Games' 2009 game show adaptation for the Nintendo Wii, Deal or No Deal.
This video shows a playthrough of an episode in TV Show mode.
So, did you ever find yourself watching Deal or No Deal on TV and thinking, "Hmm, this would make a good video game! People love playing video games that rely on sheer luck rather than skill!" Well, if you have, you might want to rethink your perspective. And if you haven't, well congratulations - some modicum of common sense prevented you from thinking that!
Just like the game show, it's random. Whether a game goes well or not has nothing to do with your intelligence or strategy. Guess, and if you're lucky, you own! Yay! But the game does try with the little that it has to work with. It features a fairly good rendering of the show's studio, and chibi-Howie Mandel is present and fully voiced. The music and dramatic effects are all included, and the ladies are here too, of course. Well, as long as you don't mind that they all look the same but for color and hair, and they all look like they suffered from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome - their eyes are too huge and dead looking to assume everything is normal.
If you want a faithful translation of the show into game format, this does the job exceedingly well. If you want a game that doesn't require anything of you but a forward-looking stare and an gaping mouth, its perfect! Everyone else might do well to set their sights just a bit higher.

Even though there's no skill involved at all, it's a fair approximation of the TV show and can be entertaining in short bursts. It just doesn't take long before you realize that it would've just been cheaper and easier to watch an episode on TV. But hey, at least you get to see a creepy, big-headed gameified Howie hit on the girls! That's something.... right?

I remember watching the show on WLEX in the Lexington area, WAVE 3 in the Louisville area, WDKY in the Lexington area and WDRB in the Louisville area, but there were differences between the network version and the syndicated version: while the syndicated version never had a $500,000 winner, the network version DID produce only two millionaires in Jessica Robinson and Tomorrow Rodriguez!

No, all the case amounts are randomized. Nobody knows what's in any of them. All you know is you have a 1/26 chance of winning the million.

There was a glitch with specifically the DS version for the UK version of the show. That had a broken RNG and gave you the same cases each time

Video clips and audio clipping aside, the characters look ... weird. I think the Gameboy Advance version did a better job on the graphics as they used actual footage. Also when choosing to accept the Banker's offer or not, it should prseent the gold board additionally shows the cases are already open so the player is not expected to memorize what has been called so far. The AWARDS at the end of the game are pretty neat though.

I think you can hold the B button at that part and it will show the amounts shown and unrevealed. I do agree the characters are creepy.
