This is an incredible horror title - and not just for the DS, but in general. Somehow Square Enix combined modern survival horror with 8-bit Dragon Warrior, and the mix worked impossibly well. It's surprisingly scary!

Though it's more of an "adventure" game not an RPG because all you do is talk and find hidden object. The "Me" sequel adds a grisly hard platforming game to spice things up though

this game has told me that went to the obscurity, that game is not recommanded for a teenager or mature to play this cursed game, only adult gamers choosed to go to death row for being cursed with bad luck for the most dangerous game in japan. i will not recommand to all gamers to NOT play this extremely scary and cursed game. not allowed for it, one of the most obscure games that are being hidden in the public.

This game's sequel has now been translated, and it's just as scary. You do get used to the ghost scares after a while, but you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't play this one with headphones on. The sound design is amazing, and when you're on the Subway train, you can hear the ghost getting closer as it calls your name.

ooh, I love this. I watched a play through years ago before a really solid translation came out. I even found myself listening to the soundtrack when I would commute home from work. Which was maybe not so fun when I forgot it was still playing with my headphones round my neck and I was trying to figure out the source of the town theme.

this game did the "haunted game cartridge" (technically haunted game download) shtick years ago this is so cool, the way you flip the system to play in the two different styles was genius and something I feel only the DS could pull off

I saw once an old video on youtube talking about this one, maybe 6 years ago or longdr. What amazes me the most about this... its the story and how this is one of the most compelling stories the DS could have had. A shame that square were too afraid to release it outside japan. Guess Nintendo "family friendly" nature block the possibility of having it outside japan. Not gonna lie. Controls look like a pain in the ass. But as for handheld horror games go, this one was really a joy to see. I spent the whole 2 hours to see it all. Surprising because this is the fist time i witness a game about the actual hardships of developers.

Although this game looks childish , it is surprisingly horrifying. It's atmosphere is distinct from another horror game. The fact you're actually playing in a NDS embrace feelings like you're into the parallel game world. The history and the conduct along the telling and the way the curse are spreading plus the feeling you're trapped and have to deal when events are happening is something! If you got any preconceptions , try yourself then tell me afterwards.

I agree. The fact that you are literally playing it in NDS is scary, because the game itself puts so much focus on the “TS” counterpart as well. It can give some people chills thinking their DS is cursed as well, and it has passed on to you.

This game was ahead of its time when it comes to indie games. A horror game where you have to run from the enemy and The story revolving around a cursed retro game. Why didn't Square released it in the west and possibly kick started these horror subgenres before Slender or those cursed ps1 inspired unity games came out? The same reason why later EA would make Isomniac change Overstrike into Fuse. they brought in a focus group, where's Overstrike was the cartoony trailer here it's they didn't like the gameplay

Back then I really didn’t understand why the sudden staff roll in the middle of Day 4. After playing DDLC I realised it is probably an attempt from the game developers to break free of manipulations, launching the debug mode as an attempt to save the player. Too bad Asahi has absolute control on the game so their attempt is in vain.

I was just revisiting this game, having dug up my old DSi. I love this series of games, though I have trouble with the controls like many others did. My honest opinion and recommendation for anyone who might want to actually play this: this is basically a visual novel, to be enjoyed for its short story and not necessarily for the challenge of gameplay elements like dual transmission tank touch controls. That part isn't good. Especially not with larger hardware. Use cheats to crank up your movement speed and don't worry about the challenge of speed running RSI with a "survival horror" game with Hotel Dusk's control scheme and hallways. If you enjoy the retro game creepy pasta aesthetic as much as I do, you'll be really happy with this and its sequel that way. Emulator and joy2key setup even more so. The DSiware Noroi no Geemu instant death platformers are also hilarious for at least a few minutes, and longer if you enjoy die until you live style gameplay.

How sad story is this game, so, the game is project: sun, the kid of Ikuta was Asahi, Asahi hate her mom and dad so much, Asahi feels lonely, in her side (Asahi side), they watch the sunrise, thats the ending, the murder that kills Asahi mom is work on UtaSoft But i dont know what is the item collected mean to it, i think that Ikuta was made all of the entire game, not the murder

My DS was broken by the time my sister introduced me to this game. But she gave me a DS emulator to try it. And goodness, it was legit scary to play🤡. The sluggish movement of the player and the fear of getting caught from your back lingers throughout the game.

I play this around 2008 translated Chinese version... I start with hard/insane mode... almost got heart attach since all ghost are invisiable.. but you can hear their breath, foot step and door... until you get very close to them, and jump scare
