A true classic. My first exposure to this was with the Big Band version in the Mario & Zelda Big Band Live. I remember searching for this CD on the internet WAY BACK in the early years of KZbin. I had found not only the CD tracks, but an actual recording from the concert too. It even had a guy in a Mario costume in the stage, along with the singer. I was amazed to know that the Super Mario Bros. theme had official japanese lyrics. Of course, the "Do the Mario" version from the Super Mario Bros. Super Show is the version I grew up singing, but that's WAY far from official, since it was made by DiC. A little later, I found rips from various Japanese-Exclusive CDs and Vinyls. One of the was Mario's Big Adventure. Yeah... the side B song sucked very hard. But it was really nice to hear the original version of this song. It's also funny how, at the same time, Nintendo's partnership with All-Night Nippon was so successful, they made a SMB re-skin with All-Night Nippon celebrities as the enemies for the Famicom.

NintendoComplete In Japan it was not so early, the FC was out since '83. And even in that time they were horrible ambominations like Urusei Yatsura: Lum no Wedding Bell, 10-Yard Fight, MUSCLE, Ikki, Legend of Kage, Soccer, etc.

Love how they reference the small fire mario glitch, but for anyone wanting to know how to do it, well... as super/fire mario, you must hit the axe at the same time as you hit bowser with your foot. As you enter a new world, you will notice you are super mario, but you are supposed to be regular mario after touching bowser. Then, get a mushroom. Due to mario's state, he will become small, after "little-big mario" touches the fire flower, he will become a small fire mario

My first exposure to this marvelous tune was from a video of the Mario & Zelda Big Band Live Concert in the 2000's. But hard to believe that it predated that concert by nearly two decades! I also know that some particular Namco soundtracks or soundtracks dedicated to their games came with their own vocal songs. Case in point, one particular Namco Graffiti had a vocal song dedicated to Wonder Momo. [But the chances of a subtitled ver. of that tune being viewed by folks in the USA is a million-to-one... Considering the vast majority of retro soundtracks with Namco music are owned by Victor Entertainment, and KZbin RED is marking them unwatchable in the USA 'cuz Victor wouldn't abide by their insane rules. I'm currently piecing together a petition to change that once and for all]

Yeah... I can't wrap my head around as to why even official game music by Namco has be the STRICT property of Victor on YT when it's the former who made those tunes to begin with. The vocal and arranged songs I can understand... But otherwise, it's just Namco's property. I'll bet it would rock the socks off of SNK fans past and present... Today, aside from a new King of Fighters title, SNK Playmore hasn't put out any hardcore entries into their Metal Slug and Samurai Shodown games. It's simply pachinko games... To be fair, I never expected J-Pop quality from the US version... But it falls into the so-bad-its-good territory for me.
