If you look at the first shot in Zion’s video game collection video the only NES game showing it’s label is, you guessed it, Yoshi’s Cookie. Yoshi is trying to tell us Zion has kidnapped him from North Korea, and he needs help.

Haha, loved this segment. Honestly. But as a Yoshi fan I can clarify some stuffs. 1.- The tax fraud thing was a media misunderstanding. Yoshis pay taxes in Yoshi's Island currency on their land, but because the main Yoshi has double citizenship with Mushrooms Kingdom it has to pay two different ones. One for Yoshi Island and other for the Mushroom Kingdom. Mushroom Kingdom didn't accept fruit, hopping stars or flowers as currency so that's where the "fraud" thing came from. Also they calculated it's income in base of the coins collected by Mario when he was riding it, but Mario was the one keeping them, not Yoshi. So Peach realized that this legal problem would affect any foreigner staying in her Kingdom so she passed a law that end up fixing Yoshi problem with the authorities and creating a currency exchange program with other overseas money (1996). That's why now Red Coins are available in Mushroom Kingdom. 2.-The "original Yoshi" (green) is only seen in games where other main Mario characters appeared. Kart, Tenis, Party, Olympics, main Mario 3D games (except sunshine). Yoshi and Mario first met during Peach visit to Dinosaur Land. "Original Yoshi" has never been in any main Yoshi serie game except for Topsy Turvy/Universal Gravitation and Safari. -Island serie stars "Original Yoshi" ancestor. -Story stars young Yoshis. And is based on Yoshi Island folklore story that has been told through generations, wasn't a real adventure that happened. -Woolly & Crafted as you mentioned are not real Yoshis. 3.-About Yoshi being in South Korea is because it was in diplomacy chats for Wii games releases for Nvidia console with China actually. Why it moved to South Korea instead of China has been a debate, but scholars have point out that could be because Yoshis can't step foot on China due international immigration laws, therefore Korea was their best option. 4.-As an important piece of information. "Main Yoshi" has become and embassador for many Nintendo, Mushroom Kingdom (And Yoshi Island) things the passed years. Just like Daisy with Sarasaland. That's why the "Where Yoshi is right now?" Is difficult to answer. It has some properties on Yoshi's Island, Mushroom Kingdom and an apartment in South Korea. I hope this helps your research. Any further questions can be asked.

Yoshi’s Cookie is actually a completely different game that was then slapped with the Yoshi branding who’s rights were picked up by Bullet Proof Software. Now another company owns the rights to the gameplay idea of Yoshi’s Cookie. So Nintendo has to give them royalties anytime they use or release a version of the game.

There is also Hello Kitty no Bead Koubou ^^. It's based on Yoshi's Cookie, and is also comparable to Hello Kitty World and Balloon Kid/Balloon Fight GB (kind of); the copyright is shared with Nintendo/Sanrio/Imagineer, but unlike HKW I don't think Nintendo staff developed that one and it was instead developed by Imagineer.

You see, Yoshi did commit tax fraud. He's been evading taxes since 2011, and while the Mushroom Kingdom cast aren't fully aware of it, the Dragon Quest cast are. They nearly had him in 2014, but they couldn't handle the kazoos, allowing Yoshi to escape from their sights and use different forms of himself to throw them off the track. Although they weren't fooled with Yoshi's first attempt in crafting in 2015, they were thrown off with his more realistic looking craft in 2019. This is why Hero is in Smash Bros. Ultimate, in order to truly confirm if the Yoshi in that world is the Yoshi they were looking for or not. And as for the Yoshi seen playing sports? Well, that's not the same Yoshi we all know. He may look the same, but he's far more competitive than the Yoshi they are looking for. And as for why Yoshi's Cookie isn't on the Nintendo Switch Online, but Yoshi is? Some believe Yoshi stole and/or destroyed all of the known recipes of his cookies; others speculate that Yoshi might sue anyone for making his copyrighted cookies. Whichever it was, it happened in 2013 and currently, Yoshi is hiding somewhere...out there... ...I seriously didn't think I'd go this far for this ridiculous story...lol.

I really appreciate these sort of deep dives into a very strange and particular subject videos. This went a silly way, but let me offer a possible explanation, back when Yoshi´s cookie was coming out, Club Nintendo magazine here in Mexico made a preview of the game saying that the game to similar to an original puzzle game that Bulletprofsoftware was making, Nintendo and Bulletproof reached an agreement that BP will not release the game in exchange of developing the SNES version of Yoshi´s Cookie. I feel like maybe BP has the copyright to the mechanics in the game so so Nintendo probably decided to ignore the game instead of negotiating with whoever has the rights now

There was an article in Nintendo power well over a decade ago about games that hadn't come stateside. At this time, we didn't have legendary starfy. Whoever wrote the article for Nintendo power said this: "99% of you have never heard of the Japanese developer TOSE, and that's exactly how they like it. This 2nd party studio tends to work in the background doing support for Nintendo EAD Projects. But they have their own series as well, Densetsu no Stafy, or "The Legend of Starfy". Who's to say if this legend will ever swim his way to our shores?" And then like a year or two later we got a game finally!

Super Mario Galaxy 2 was cut from 3D All Stars due to legal issue with a certain character prominently displayed in the title screen. Despite the cut, Nintendo was forced to discontinue the title shortly after its release as said character was later found "hidden" within the rest of the game.

PSA: If you find a box of Yoshi's Cookies do not eat them (especially as the best before date would be 1994). Seriously, back in the 90s Nagasakiya produced them (a few years prior there was Super Mario World Chocolate too). So Japan had Yoshi's cookies, America had Nintendo cereal system and what was the UK left with? Sonic the hedgehog ketchup. But what happened Yoshi's cookie was it wasn't just delisted but deleted as well. You could not re-download it if you owned it. That suggests it's not your normal "license holder does not want to sell it anymore" (e.g. Sim City) but rather a "you should have never sold this in the first place, cease and desist at once".

Yoshi has appeared in multiple games in the present day. The Mario Party Series, The Mario Kart Series, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Tennis Aces, and more that takes place in the present time. Super Mario Party is not a remake of Mario Party 1, Rosalina is featured, meaning it takes places after Galaxy 2, whereas Mario Party 1 takes place before Super Mario Land, since Mario Party 2 might be a prequel to Super Mario Land 2. It's also like 2015 in the current Mario time because of the dates in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Mario Kart Tour
